About Travel-Ready Box Folding
Packing Kanjivarams or Banarasi silks in a suitcase usually means dealing with crushed pleats and uneven pallus upon arrival. My box-folding service compresses your saree into a sturdy 12x14 inch form, using specialized folding techniques and protective inserts that keep the zari borders safe and the pleats sharp without needing a single touch-up when you land.
When you have a wedding or a major function out of town, the last thing you want to do is hunt for a steam iron or struggle with pinning pleats in a hotel room. My box-folding technique is designed specifically for travel. I take your saree, whether it is a heavy bridal silk or a delicate tissue, and treat it with professional steam ironing to ensure the fabric remains crisp.
Once the pleats are set, I use 5 to 8 rust-proof pins to secure the structure. The saree is then folded into a precise 12x14 inch shape, utilizing hidden fold lines to maintain the integrity of the drape. I place protective cardboard inserts between the layers, which prevents the fabric from shifting and ensures that heavy zari borders do not scratch or rub against each other during transit.
This method is ideal for international travel or destination weddings. You can simply take the saree out of the box, wrap it around, and head straight to your function.
