About Store & Travel with Ease: The Box Folding Finish
When I box-fold your saree, I use a specific A4 or legal-size brick shape that sits flat in your suitcase. This means your heavy silk Kanjeevarams do not come out wrinkled when you land. You get to pull your saree out and wear it in under five minutes, regardless of how long the travel took.
Storing sarees in your wardrobe or packing them for a destination wedding shouldn't involve endless fussing with fabric. Traditional folding often leads to deep creases in the silk or zari, which can be impossible to fix on the go.
My box-folding process is designed for two things: protection and convenience. I start by steam-ironing the entire saree to ensure the fabric is relaxed and flat. Then, I calculate the pleats based on your height and waist measurements, securing them with strategic pins. Finally, the saree is folded into a compact brick shape and placed in a protective cover. This prevents the fabric from snagging, keeps dust out, and ensures the pleats stay crisp from the moment I pack them until you are ready to drape.
