Our Bangalore Tango Academy was featured in the Deccan Chronicle, highlighting our special workshops and Milonga events across the city. It's wonderful to see our community's passion for Argentine Tango being shared with a wider audience.

This is an announcement for my Improvers Tango Classes in Koramangala, designed for those who have completed a beginners course. It's a space for dancers to refine their technique, improve their walk, and deepen their understanding of the dance.
About Our Community & Events
You do not need a partner or any prior dance experience to join our community sessions. Whether you are walking into your first Milonga or looking to refine your technique, we rotate partners throughout the session. This helps you break the habit of relying on one person and teaches you how to truly lead or follow anyone on the dance floor.
Building a Real Tango Community
When I started Bangalore Tango Academy, my goal was to bring the spirit of a Buenos Aires Milonga to our city. A Milonga is not a stage show; it is a social gathering where the dance happens organically. You will find that our events are designed to be accessible, focused on the 'TangoShastra' method that treats the dance as a science of movement rather than just a hobby.
What You Can Expect
- Inclusive Milongas: We host regular social dance events across Bangalore, from Koramangala to Indiranagar. These are open spaces where you can practice what you have learned in a real-world, crowded floor setting.
- The Rotation Method: In my group classes and workshops, we practice partner rotation. This is non-negotiable because it forces you to adapt your connection, sensitivity, and posture to different partners. It prevents you from memorizing a specific person's rhythm and forces you to listen to the music instead.
- Beyond the Steps: Our community events are also a space to learn Tango etiquette, or 'Codigos'. We discuss how to invite a partner, how to respect the space of others on the floor, and how to maintain the connection that makes this dance meditative.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an improver looking to master complex figures like Ganchos or Barridas, my classes focus on your internal balance. If you are worried about feeling awkward, remember that everyone here started with the same basic Tango walk. The goal is to feel the music, not just look like you are dancing.
