About Waterfall Treks & Adventures
It is not just about the photo op at the end. When we trek to places like Bandaje or Koodlu, you are walking through dense, monsoon-drenched forests where the terrain gets genuinely slippery. We don't just dump you at the base and leave you to it; our trek leads pace the group so everyone actually makes it to the falls safely, not just the fastest walkers in the batch.
Why We Do Waterfall Treks
There is a special kind of reset that happens when you're standing under a cold cascade after a 10km hike. We don't organize these treks just to tick a box. We pick trails in the Western Ghats—like the ones in Chikmagalur and Agumbe—because they are raw and real.
What to Expect on Our Trips
We handle the logistics so you don't have to deal with permits or getting lost.
- Transport: We depart from Bangalore on Friday nights, usually from pickup points like Silk Board and Marathahalli. You'll be in a group, so expect music, intro rounds, and maybe a few bad jokes before we hit the trail.
- Stay: Depending on the trek, you will be staying in basic homestays (dormitory style) or tents. Expect shared washrooms and local, simple food. If you are looking for luxury resorts, this isn't it.
- Safety: We prioritize your safety over the itinerary. If the monsoon makes a trail too risky, we cancel. No trek is worth risking lives for, and we are usually the first to make that call.
Where We Go
From the powerful plunges at Bandaje to the secluded Somavathi Falls near our Kudrem near our homestays, we cover the best of Karnataka's monsoon magic. Whether you are a solo traveler, a first-timer, or a pro, these treks are designed to be challenging but doable.
Just bring sturdy shoes, a raincoat, and a sense of humor. The rest is on us.
Backpackers United
We started in 2017 because we wanted to build a community, not just a travel gig. We aren't here to offer luxury, but we are here to ensure you actually enjoy your weekend, get some muddy boots, and make friends you will actually talk to after the trip ends.
