Backpackers United: Real Stories from Our Trekking Community
We believe travel is better when shared. Here is a look at the people, the bonfire moments, and the memories that define the BPU vibe.
A behind the scenes look at how we handled a long weekend during a red alert for rain. Your safety is always our first priority, but we worked hard to create new, safe itineraries so our community could still have their adventure.
We asked, and you answered. Here are the different types of people you meet on our treks, from the first timer to the party animal. Which one are you?
On World Environment Day, our group participated in a sapling plantation drive. We believe in giving back to the nature that gives us so much.
A huge thank you to everyone who chooses to travel with us. Seeing your photos and reading your messages is what motivates us every single day.
Don't let excuses stop you. Traveling in India can be affordable and life changing. This is your sign to stop thinking and start doing.
A traveler exploring a beautiful cave formation. Our trips often include these hidden spots that you might not find on your own.
About Our Community Stories
Every trip with us is less of a standard tour and more of a weekend reunion. Whether it is the impromptu energy on the bus ride to the Western Ghats or the late-night campfire confessions, these are the moments that define us. If you are joining solo, you are in the right place—most of our travelers arrive alone and leave with a group of friends they actually want to plan their next trip with.
We have been running trips since 2017, but the scenery is only half the story. The real magic happens in the connections made between people who were strangers just forty-eight hours ago.
Why the Vibe Matters
We do not run factory-style tours where you just tick places off a list. Our treks are designed to be social. If you are tired of the city grind and want to disconnect, our weekend getaways are your escape hatch. We handle the logistics—the forest permits, the homestays, and the transport—so you can focus on the important stuff: finding the best spot by the campfire and getting enough sleep for the morning hike.
Safety Before Everything
We like to joke around on the trails, but we take safety seriously. You might have seen our team make the tough call to cancel trips during the August rains. It was not easy, but the community comes first. We would rather lose a weekend of bookings than risk anyone on a dangerous trail. When you travel with us, you are part of a family that looks out for one another.
From Solo to Squad
Most people who book with us are solo travelers. It is usually awkward at the start, but by the time we reach the base camp, the ice is broken. We have seen people bond over shared meals, struggle through the final kilometer of a trek together, and eventually plan their next three trips as a group. If you are hesitant about joining a group, remember that everyone else is in the same boat. Just show up, and let the mountains do the rest.
Backpackers United
We are a team that believes travel is just an excuse to build a family. We started this to help you escape the city grind, safely and with a lot of noise. You bring the shoes, we bring the chaos, the campfire, and the trek leads who promise 'only 1km more'.
