About Himalayan Winter Treks

We won't sugarcoat it—winter trekking in the Himalayas is freezing, and that is the best part. When you are camping in sub-zero temperatures, the gear we provide becomes your lifeline. We keep our group batches small so you are not just a number in a long line, meaning you actually get to know your trek mates well before we even reach the summit.

Winter in the Himalayas is not just about snow; it is about the silence of the mountains when the tourist crowds disappear. We specialize in treks like Kedarkantha because they offer the perfect mix—challenging enough to push your limits but accessible for those who have not spent their lives at high altitudes.

The Reality of the Summit

You will be walking through waist-deep snow, and yes, your toes will feel like ice cubes. But waking up in a tent surrounded by snow-dusted pines at the base camp is a feeling you cannot replicate. Our trek leads are mountain-certified, not just guides. They track weather patterns daily. If it is unsafe, we turn back. Simple as that.

Preparation & Gear

You need to handle the cold. We provide the tents, sleeping bags, and mats, but you need to bring your own proper trekking shoes with good grip and a warm down jacket. We send a detailed gear checklist once you book. Winter trekking requires focus, but we make sure you have the right support.

Getting There

Most of our winter expeditions start from Dehradun. Whether you are flying in or taking the train, we coordinate meeting points so you can join the group transport to the base camp. It is a long journey, but the conversations on that bus ride? That is usually where the BPU family starts.
