The Story and Promise Behind Babakull's
Behind every dish is a recipe from my freedom-fighter grandfather’s era. I’m Rahul, and I keep his history alive by hand-packing every order with a personal note, just like the old days.
It's these note-conversations that make it all worthwhile. I love connecting with my customers, and seeing them enjoy the food and come back for more is the greatest reward for carrying on my grandfather's legacy.
Another handwritten note for a valued customer. I believe in a personal touch with every order. It's a small way to share the story and passion behind the food you're about to enjoy.
This is the face of my brand, inspired by my grandfather, the original 'Babakull'. The logo represents the heritage, the freedom-fighter spirit, and the timeless recipes from 1947 that I strive to preserve in every dish I cook.
About The Babakull's Story & Our Promise
When you order from me, you aren't just getting a meal. You are getting the same flavors my grandfather cooked back in the 1940s, right down to the specific coastal ghee I travel to source myself. Every package includes a handwritten note from me, because this kitchen is built on connection, not just commerce.
My grandfather wasn't a chef; he was a freedom fighter. His kitchen was where he found his peace, and those recipes from 1890 to 1947 are the foundation of everything I do here. The Babakull's name isn't just branding. It is a commitment to a time when ingredients were real and food was a labor of love.
I personally handle the sourcing. Whether it’s the special coastal ghee, the 'thuppa', or the spices for the Old Bombay Irani garam masala, I don’t take shortcuts. If I can't find the right ingredients that match the old-school profile, we simply don't cook that dish. This is why you will notice our Thuppangadi biriyani has a depth of flavor that is hard to find in modern, mass-produced kitchens.
The handwritten notes you see in our gallery aren't a marketing tactic. They are a promise. I believe that food should come with a human connection, especially when you are eating history. Whether you are ordering a B'luru kebab or a traditional roll, know that it was prepared with the intention of keeping a legacy alive.
