Traditional & Festive Kids Photography
I love capturing the vibrant colors and traditions that define our culture. From the Gudi Padwa Shobh Yatra to traditional milestones, these sessions are about preserving your child's pride in their roots.
A stunning portrait of a young girl dressed in a traditional Paithani saree for the Gudi Padwa festival. Her confident smile, intricate jewelry, and the festive atmosphere are captured beautifully.
This young boy looks full of style and confidence in his traditional attire and sunglasses. This photo from the Girgaon Shobh Yatra captures the modern spirit mixed with cultural pride.
About Cultural & Festive Shoots
Shooting at a bustling festival like the Girgaon Shobh Yatra is unpredictable, so I prioritize capturing the quiet, candid moments that usually get lost in the noise. I look for pockets of soft natural light that make traditional attire—like a Paithani saree or a festive kurta—pop without the distraction of a cluttered background, ensuring your child remains the focus of the memory.
Preserving Our Culture
Photography is more than just a service to me; it is a way to freeze time and honor the heritage we pass down to our children. When I document festive events, my goal is to blend technical precision with genuine emotion. Whether it is the pride in a young girl’s smile while wearing her first saree or the playful energy of a boy in traditional festive wear, these images tell a story of who we are.
My Approach to Festive Shoots
I use a Sony A7IV paired with a Samyang 85mm F1.4 lens for these events. This setup allows me to isolate the subject beautifully, blurring out the chaotic festival backgrounds and keeping the attention on the subject’s expression.
- Candid Over Posed: I do not believe in stiff poses. I follow the flow of the event, waiting for those real laughs and curious glances that make a photo feel alive.
- Traditional Detail: I pay close attention to the small things—intricate jewelry, the drape of a saree, or a traditional headgear. These details are what you will want to remember years from now.
- Comfort First: Children can get overwhelmed in large crowds. I make sure to keep the interaction light and fun, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable in their traditional clothes before I start shooting.
If you have a specific festival or cultural milestone coming up, let’s talk about how to capture it in a way that feels authentic to your family.
