About Behind the Seams: My Studio & Process
It starts with a conversation, often over tea. Whether you have a specific vision or just a feeling, I sketch the design, select the fabric, and oversee every hand-done embroidery motif. My team focuses on fittings that are precise, ensuring you walk out feeling like the best version of yourself, rather than just wearing a standard outfit.
People often see the final gown or lehenga, but the journey to that piece starts much earlier. At Red Carpet Studio, we follow a path from inspiration to the final output that involves you at every stage.
Our Process
- Inspiration & Sketching: We sit down to understand your style. I create a sketch that balances your personality with the occasion.
- Fabric & Detail Selection: We choose fabrics—pure silk, organza, or crepe—that drape perfectly for your body type. We also select the motifs for the hand embroidery.
- Pattern Making & Cutting: This is where the structural work happens. We draft patterns specific to your measurements so the fit is accurate.
- Sample & Adjustments: We sew a sample or do preliminary fittings. This is crucial for getting the princess-cut blouses or corset-style gowns to sit exactly right.
- Hand Embroidery & Finishing: My team adds the cutdana, sequins, and zari work by hand. We do not take shortcuts here, as every stitch contributes to the final look.
