Transforming Public Spaces and Community Walls with Mural Art
I turn blank city walls and concrete pillars into vibrant stories. From metro structures to community projects, let’s bring life and local culture to your neighbourhood walls.
A before and after look at our Bangalore metro pillar beautification project. We took dull concrete structures and painted them with colorful, stylized portraits of community figures, making the daily commute a more inspiring experience for everyone.
Here is another view of our work on the city's pillars, showcasing different artistic themes. From a traditional rooster design to portraits of local personalities, each pillar has its own unique character. The scaffolding shows the scale of the work involved in these massive paintings.
This street wall mural celebrates the soul of our land with depictions of a farmer and a traditional musician. My team and I worked to bring bright colors and meaningful art to this public space, making it a point of pride for the local community.
This video documents our project for the ISRO Satellite Centre's "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign. We covered an old, faded painting and created a fresh mural with a clear message about cleanliness, featuring a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi to inspire action.
A closer look at the process behind the ISRO Swachhata Andolan mural. From painting the Hindi and English slogans to illustrating scenes of citizens cleaning their environment, every detail was designed to spread awareness and encourage community participation.
About Transforming Cityscapes: Public & Community Murals
I approach every public or community wall as an open-air gallery, prioritizing long-lasting quality over quick results. For exterior projects, we begin by deep-cleaning and priming the surface, then apply weather-resistant exterior emulsion paints specifically designed to stand up to Bengaluru's sun and rain. The goal is to ensure the vibrant colors and detailed figures remain clear for years, not just for a season.
I believe that art is a maha shakti (great power) that can change how people feel about their daily surroundings. When I work on a commercial space or a community pillar, I do not just paint a wall; I add a piece of local soul to it. Whether it is an awareness campaign like the Swachhata Andolan or a decorative mural for a corporate office, the process stays the same: we start with a conversation about your requirements, your theme, and your budget.
The Mural Process
- Concept & Design: We discuss your vision. I provide a digital overlay or a pencil sketch so you can see the direction before we pick up a brush. We allow for 1 to 2 rounds of minor changes to ensure the design matches your intent.
- Surface Prep: A mural is only as good as the wall it sits on. We ensure the surface is properly cleaned and primed for maximum paint adhesion.
- Execution: Depending on the scale, my team and I handle the outlining and filling. For large-scale projects like metro pillars, we use durable materials to handle the exposed environment.
I handle projects ranging from large-scale commercial murals at ₹180 to ₹350 per sq. ft. My work has appeared on prominent structures across Bangalore, including projects for ISRO, where we focused on clean, impactful messaging. If you have a dull wall that needs a story, send me a message and let's make something adbhutavaadantaha (wonderful) together.
