Old doors and windows are portals to stories and memories. I capture this timeless charm through wood burning and mixed media, turning architectural history into art for your walls.
I call this series "Doorways to Dreams." This piece was created using pyrography, or wood burning, to etch the intricate details of an ornate doorway into wood. It's a 12x12 inch piece, available for purchase.

In this pyrography piece, I combined wood burning with gold foiling to create a beautiful floral design. The gold adds a touch of light and elegance to the rustic feel of the burned wood.
One of the five principles I follow as an artist is fixing a mutually decided price before any sample work begins. This ensures transparency and trust from the start.
About The Doors & Windows Series
I use professional heat-station wood burning to etch these designs onto wood, and for a bit of extra warmth, I often combine that with gold leafing or textured acrylics. It is a slow, manual process that lets me get every crack in the stone and detail in the carving just right, so you get something that feels genuinely aged and historical on your wall.
There is something about an antique door that feels like an invitation. In this series, I focus on that feeling. Whether it is an ornate archway or a weathered wooden frame, my goal is to bring that sense of history into your home.
The Process Behind the Art
I work primarily with high-quality pine wood blocks for the pyrography pieces. The process starts with a sketch, which I then burn into the wood using a heat station. This allows me to control the gradients—I can go from light, soft shadows to deep, intense burns. For the mixed media pieces, I use sand, texture paste, and acrylics to create a tactile, rustic feel.
Customization & Care
Every piece in this series can be customized to fit your space.
- Size: Most pieces range from 12x12 inches to 24x24 inches, perfect for creating a gallery wall in a corridor or filling a small pillar space.
- Collaboration: We start with a chat about the vibe you want. I share a rough sketch or digital concept so you know exactly what to expect before I pick up the wood-burning tool.
- Longevity: Since these are made to last, I finish every pyrography piece with UV-resistant varnish. This protects the wood from humidity and keeps the details sharp for years.
When you commission a piece, you also receive a Certificate of Authenticity with a wax seal. My goal is to make sure you have a piece of art that does not just fill a blank wall, but brings a specific memory or feeling back every time you look at it.
