About this collection
These aren't just wall hangings; they are functional pieces designed for daily use. Whether you choose a classic mirror design or one with working shutters, I ensure every frame is sealed with a clear varnish to protect the delicate floral patterns from dust and humidity. It is that practical layer that keeps the wood and paint looking fresh on your wall for years.
I have always been fascinated by the intricate architecture of Rajasthani palaces. The jharokha, or the traditional overhanging enclosed balcony, is such a powerful symbol of that heritage. When I paint these, I try to distill that grandeur into something that fits perfectly in a modern Bengaluru home.
How I Craft Your Jharokha
Each piece begins with high-quality wood or MDF. I start by hand-sketching traditional Rajasthani floral motifs—the same kind you might spot on palace walls in Jaipur. I use professional-grade acrylics for a vibrant finish that doesn't fade.
More Than Just Decor
- Functional Art: Many of these frames include mirrors. It is an easy way to add depth to a hallway or a small room.
- Working Shutters: Some designs feature shutters that actually open and close. It adds a lovely tactile element if you are using it to frame a small photo or just for a touch of authenticity.
- Diya Holders: I often integrate a small holder at the base of the frame, perfect for placing a diya during festivals or a tea light for a warm, spiritual glow.
Whether you are looking for a singular statement piece for your entryway or want to build a gallery wall using a few different shapes, I can customize the colors and patterns to match your home's theme. Since I hand-paint every single one, no two pieces are identical. That is the beauty of handmade art; it carries a little bit of my meditative process right into your living space.
