Pre-Design Heritage Audit & Feasibility
Documentation & Mapping
- As-Built Drawings: Creation of precise measured drawings (plans, sections, elevations) via manual measurement and digital plotting.
- Condition Mapping: Visual inspection to map distress signals including cracks, dampness, spalling concrete, or timber damage.
- Photographic Survey: Archival documentation of the current state, focusing on unique architectural features like cornices and vintage joinery.
Feasibility & Analysis
- Structural Health Check: Visual assessment of load-bearing walls, roof trusses, and foundations to determine capacity for new loads.
- Regulatory Check: Zoning analysis to identify applicable conservation laws or FSI limits for the specific property.
- Reuse Potential Report: A strategic presentation outlining broad approaches for adapting the space (e.g., minimal intervention vs. modern insertion).
Adaptive Reuse Design Consultancy
Design & Spatial Strategy
- Concept Re-imagination: Developing a design narrative to repurpose old spaces for new uses (offices, hospitality, or cultural).
- Structural Retrofitting: Designing surgical interventions such as strengthening columns or adding steel I-beams to support new layouts.
- Modern Insertions: Design of contemporary elements like glass partitions or steel staircases that contrast respectfully with the original fabric.
Technical Integration
- MEP Retrofitting: Strategic routing of AC, electrical, and fire systems into buildings not originally designed for them, minimizing visual clutter.
- Passive Climate Design: Restoration of natural ventilation systems and courtyard usage to reduce reliance on artificial cooling.
- Material Conservation: Strategy for salvaging and reusing on-site materials like old bricks and timber rafters.
Execution Oversight
- GFC Drawings: Detailed 'Good for Construction' drawings for civil, carpentry, and finishing works.
- Site Supervision: Periodic visits (4 to 6 per month) to ensure contractors respect the heritage fabric and execute details correctly.
Pure Heritage Restoration Consultancy
Restoration Methodology
- Material Forensic Analysis: Testing existing mortars/plasters to create matching recipes (e.g., lime-surkhi) rather than using damaging cement.
- Structural Stabilization: Non-invasive strengthening techniques like stitching masonry cracks or grouting voids to ensure longevity.
- Roof & Joinery Restoration: Detailed drawings for repairing or replicating timber truss roofs, teak windows, and intricate trellis work.
Artisan & Context Management
- Craftsman Coordination: Identifying and managing specialized skilled labor (stone carvers, lime plasterers) for traditional finishes.
- Ecological Landscaping: Landscape design prioritizing existing trees and local flora to treat the natural context as equal to the built structure.
- Heritage Lighting: Design of lighting schemes that highlight architectural textures and depth without creating light pollution.
About Adaptive Reuse & Conservation
Why Old Buildings Matter to Us
Every old building has a vibe, a dastaan (story) you can almost feel. I’ve always thought it’s not just about fixing up a space - it’s about hearing what it’s been through and figuring out how it can fit into today’s world. My work is really about making that conversation between past and present happen.
How I Approach Each Project
- I don’t just jump into renovation mode. First, I get to know the site - its quirks, its history, the community around it.
- The goal: keep the character and soul intact while making spaces safe and useful for now.
- It’s this balance that keeps things interesting.
What I Actually Do
- Heritage Conservation: Carefully restore historic spots to protect their unique identity. Sometimes it’s tricky - old buildings have their own stubbornness.
- Creative Repurposing: Take any existing structure, not just heritage ones, and flip its use. It’s a sustainable move that gives places another shot at being part of the community.
Projects I’m Proud Of
- The Reshamkhana Project in Srinagar was a real sarsarahat (buzz) for us. Turning an old silk factory into a buzzing cultural spot for Kashmiri artisans - we kept the industrial feel but made it fresh with modern touches. This is what industrial heritage transformation looks like to me.
- Not just about the past. For Laurus Labs in Vizag, I repurposed a newer building’s skeleton into a healthy, breezy office. Sometimes, modern interventions in old structures make all the difference.
What Guides Me
I’m always asking - can this place be more than just a building? The best ideas usually come from respecting what’s already there. That’s the real dialogue.

My Story
We’re Architecture Dialogue. Our name says it all – we believe design is a real back-and-forth, not a one-way street. Our roots spread across Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and our team’s got all kinds of skills. You’ll catch us celebrating Diwali together, painting walls (AD’s Got Latent), and just vibing as we work. Those little sarsarahat (buzz) moments? It’s the team spirit, not just the awards. We build together, argue, laugh, and grow. That’s us.
My Work
Our Services - We do architectural design, master planning, urban design, interiors, plus adaptive reuse architecture and conservation projects.
Design Through Dialogue - We listen, chat, and design. Every project starts with a proper conversation, so the space fits you and the place.
Nature in Every Project - Saving old trees, using natural ventilation, we push for sustainable master planning wherever we can.
Spaces That Feel Human - We make places, not just buildings – public spaces that welcome, homes that feel like you.
Solving Tricky Problems - Tight sites, old buildings, weird rules – we turn design problems into creative opportunities.
