Eco-Sensitive & Bespoke Residential Architecture
Concept & Climate Strategy
- Narrative-Led Design: Creation of unique architectural concepts based on site context (wind patterns, sun path) and lifestyle needs.
- Passive Cooling: Integration of cross-ventilation, shading devices, and orientation strategies to reduce energy consumption.
- 3D Visualization: Massing models and renders to study volumes and light interaction.
Detailed Documentation
- Construction Drawings: Full set of Good for Construction (GFC) civil plans, dimensions, and setting out details.
- Alternative Techniques: Specialized detailing for Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB), Rammed Earth, or Ferroconcrete elements.
- Custom Fenestrations: Drawings for bespoke doors, windows, and ventilators tailored to the building geometry.
- MEP Integration: Electrical and plumbing layouts coordinated with structural design to minimize visual clutter.
Materials & Site Oversight
- Natural Palette: Selection of raw materials like oxide flooring, terracotta, exposed brick, and local stone.
- Upcycling: Strategies to integrate reclaimed wood or tiles into the new structure.
- Site Supervision: Periodic visits to ensure artisanal finishes and structural details are executed accurately.
Compact Urban & Challenging Plot Design
Space Optimization
- Volumetric Planning: Use of split levels, mezzanines, and double-height spaces to expand perceived volume on tight plots.
- Structural Efficiency: Implementation of space-saving elements like Ferroconcrete shells or thin composite walls.
Privacy & Facade
- Light Filtering: Design of perforated metal or brick jaali screens to admit light while blocking neighbor views.
- Vertical Circulation: Compact staircase and lift core designs to minimize floor area usage.
Integrated Details
- Civil Furniture: Design of built-in masonry seating and shelves to save floor space.
- Concealed Services: Integration of tanks and piping within architectural forms to maintain clean elevations.
Renovation & Heritage Restoration
Forensic Analysis & Concept
- As-Built Study: Documentation of existing structures to identify load-bearing walls and timber condition.
- Contextual Research: Study of original architectural styles to guide sensitive restoration or modernization.
- Layout Modification: Redesigning internal flows to improve light and ventilation while respecting the original footprint.
Restoration & Reuse
- Structural Strengthening: Collaboration with engineers to reinforce aging roofs and walls.
- Material Salvage: Inventory and integration of existing assets like rafters and tiles to minimize waste.
- Traditional Finishes: Specifications for restoring lime plaster, red oxide, or exposed stone masonry.
Execution Support
- Vendor Coordination: Liaison with specialized craftsmen for traditional techniques.
- Oversight: Supervision to ensure minimal intervention and preservation of key heritage elements.
About Architectural Design
How I See Architecture
For me, architecture is all about what happens in the in-between spaces - not just the walls, but the vibe between indoors and outdoors, old and new, your ideas and what the site can actually become. I don’t stick to one style. Every project is its own story, and I try to make sure it fits the place, the people, and the planet.
What Guides My Work
- Sustainability isn’t a buzzword here. I start with eco-sensitive home design, making sure homes breathe, use less energy, and feel good to live in.
- I love working with raw, honest materials - CSEB, rammed earth, old bricks, and even upcycled building materials. If I can reuse an old door or a plank, I will.
- Inspiration comes from Indian traditions - like the compact Agraharam layouts or a chill Jagli katte (verandah). I use things like jaali walls and deep chajjas (overhangs) for that classic, climate-responsive architecture India is known for.
What I Actually Do
- Most of my work is residential - from tiny city plots to big farmhouses. I’ve done homes that open up to nature, use curved jaali screens, and even smart home tech.
- I also design for schools, shops, and heritage buildings. Sometimes it’s about making a modern facade for a retail store, sometimes it’s restoring a 100-year-old bungalow with minimal fuss.
- I’m big on collaboration. If you care about Vastu or have a quirky site, I’m up for the challenge. The goal is always a space that feels right for you and its surroundings.

My Story
We’re Betweenlines because for us, the magic’s always in the gaps - between city and wild, research and making, ideas and real life. We’ve built shelters you can wear, turned annoying lantana weeds into furniture, and learned a lot from both wins and flops. Our team’s a mix of folks who love to experiment. For us, the best bit is seeing a space grow its own story with the people who use it.
My Work
What We Do - Urban design, architecture, interiors, research - from big buildings to tiny details like upcycled interior finishes.
Eco-Sensitive Architecture - We use sustainable materials, recharge water, and design with nature in mind. Think interlocking bricks, reclaimed wood.
Community Empowerment Through Design - We love projects that help people - wellness spaces, heritage revamps, solutions for street vendors.
Material Honesty - Raw, handmade, sometimes wild - like lantana weed furniture or red oxide floors. We reuse and upcycle wherever possible.
Concept-Driven Facade Design - Every project starts with a story - a weave, a carpet, something that makes the space speak.
