Rhythm is a universal language. My Tabla Therapy sessions help you unlock focus, relieve stress, and find emotional balance—no prior musical experience is needed.

Did you know that the sounds of the Tabla, or 'bols', have a deep, healing power? In my Tabla Therapy workshops, I guide you through rhythmic chanting and meditation to help release stress and find inner joy. You don't need any musical experience to join.

This newspaper article from the Hindustan Times captures my vision perfectly. My goal is to show that music is therapeutic, a powerful tool for creating a healthy, happy, and sensitive community.

Through my foundation, APCF, I conduct 'Workshops of Wellness' in schools and colleges. Here, you can see me using music and rhythm to motivate youth, promote value-based education, and support women's causes.

My social initiatives include music workshops for college students and promoting respect for the environment. I also instituted the Padmashri M. T. Vyas Stree Shakti Award to empower women in the arts.

About this collection

You do not need a background in Indian classical music to start. In these sessions, we focus on 'bols'—the rhythmic syllables—to regulate breathing and ground your energy. It is less about performance and more about using the vibration of the tabla to tune your own internal rhythm, effectively acting as a form of active meditation that clears the mind.

Tuning Your Inner Rhythm

Many people view the tabla solely as an instrument for performance, but its potential for mental clarity is profound. Through Tabla Therapy, I guide you to move beyond the technicalities of 'kaidas' or 'gats' and explore how specific rhythmic cycles (Taals) influence our physiology. By focusing on the resonance and the vibration of the drum, we can shift our state of mind from chaotic to calm.

What to Expect

Whether you join my weekend group workshops or a 1-on-1 session, the focus is on your wellbeing:

  • Breathing & Posture: We begin by aligning the body. Proper posture and breathing techniques are the foundation of playing, but they are also essential for stress reduction.
  • Rhythmic Chanting: We use the sounds of the tabla to synchronize our heartbeat and steady our focus. It is a powerful way to detach from the day's stress.
  • Active Meditation: Unlike silent meditation, this is engaging. You are present, active, and creating a rhythm that helps you stay in the moment.

Who Is This For?

These sessions are designed for everyone. I have worked with students, busy professionals seeking a mental reset, and even other artists looking for a different approach to discipline and focus. My goal is to make the healing power of Indian classical music accessible, helping you find a sense of equilibrium that you can carry into your daily life. We keep the curriculum fluid so that whether you are a complete beginner or someone looking for advanced rhythmic training, you leave with tools that serve your specific emotional and mental health needs.
