Safe Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Sequences
I guide you through modified asanas that provide stability and comfort for your changing body. Using props to ensure safety, we focus on strength, breathwork, and finding calm during your pregnancy journey.
In this demonstration, you can see how we use a simple chair to support a standing forward bend. This modification helps to lengthen the spine and release tension in the lower back, a common issue during pregnancy, while keeping your abdomen completely relaxed and safe. The focus is always on stability and ease, not on achieving a perfect pose.
About Safe Poses for Your Pregnancy Journey
I focus on using simple props like metal chairs to create safe, supported sequences. This is not about pushing for deep stretches or perfect form, but rather about relieving lower back tension and giving your belly space to breathe, whether you are in your first trimester or preparing for labor.
Navigating pregnancy or the postnatal period often feels like a balancing act. My approach is to take the stress out of that balance. In our sessions at the Greenergy House studio in Koramangala, we prioritize physical safety through the intelligent use of props. You will not find rigid, intense postures here. Instead, we use metal folding chairs to provide support for standing poses and forward bends, ensuring you can lengthen your spine and release tension without straining your abdomen.
Why this approach works
- Trimester-Specific Adaptation: Your needs change as your pregnancy progresses. We adjust the intensity, focusing on stability in the first trimester, gentle strengthening in the second, and opening the pelvis for labor preparation in the third.
- Breathwork for Calm: We integrate 'Aakara' chanting and Nadi Shodhana to help regulate your nervous system. This is practical tools for labor and daily life, not just abstract concepts.
- Postnatal Recovery: If you are coming back after delivery, we focus on regaining core strength at your own pace. You can pause and transition your package seamlessly as your recovery needs evolve.
What to expect
Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4:30 PM. We keep the groups intimate, allowing me to provide the hands-on adjustments that make yoga truly beneficial. Whether you are dealing with fatigue or seeking a community of other mothers, these sessions offer a space to show up, breathe, and find a little bit of bliss in the chaos.
