Your wedding mehendi should be as unique as your love story. I specialize in intricate portraits, couple silhouettes, and meaningful symbols that turn your hands into a canvas of memories.

A full view of a custom bridal mehendi featuring detailed portraits of the couple. The design also includes royal elephants and palace architecture, creating a complete narrative on the arms.

This bridal design features stunning, high-contrast portraits of the bride and groom on each palm. I use shading techniques to make the figures stand out, ensuring they are the centerpiece of the artwork.

A beautiful example of a family portrait in mehendi. This design captures the bride with her parents and the groom with his, a truly special way to honor family on your wedding day.

A sweet couple portrait created for a Karwa Chauth celebration. The design is framed by a peacock and hanging kalire, blending festive and romantic elements.

This design tells a story through a series of panels on the palms, featuring portraits and swan motifs. It’s a creative way to showcase multiple elements of a couple's relationship.

A classic Maharashtrian bride portrait, complete with the traditional nose ring (nath) and jewelry. I take care to get the cultural details right for your specific wedding traditions.

Another look at a Maharashtrian bridal figure. This design shows the bride in her full wedding attire, with a 'swastik' symbol and a temple dome motif on the arm.

A full bridal design featuring Radha-Krishna portraits on the palms. The arms are adorned with peacock and palace motifs, creating a design that is both spiritual and regal.

About Your Story in Henna: Custom Portraits & Figures

Creating realistic portraits on skin is a delicate craft. I use ultra-fine 0.3mm tips to capture the expressions and intricate jewelry details you see in these photos, which makes this style quite different from standard bridal henna. Because these designs are highly custom and require a dedicated 6 to 8-hour session, I schedule a pre-wedding consultation with every bride to map out your specific wedding moments, pets, or hobbies before we start the actual application.

While traditional jaal and floral patterns are timeless, I find that many of my brides want their mehendi to be a visual diary of their journey. My portrait and storytelling mehendi designs (starting at ₹11,000) are about more than just filling space on your hands; they are about composition and precision.

What Goes Into a Custom Portrait Design

When you book a storytelling package, we aren't just picking patterns from a book. We look for the moments that define your relationship:

  • The Varmala or Doli: Capturing the specific ritual or pose from your wedding ceremony.
  • Personal Symbols: Incorporating elements like your pet, travel flags, or initials hidden within the larger design.
  • Cultural Motifs: Blending figurative art with traditional Maharashtrian, Gujarati, or other regional architecture like temple domes and palaces.

The Application Process

This is a slow, methodical process. Unlike guest mehendi, which is optimized for speed, these portraits demand absolute focus. I work with a 0.3mm tip to ensure the facial features don't blur when the stain develops. We usually spend the first part of our session confirming the placement and scale of the figures.

Planning for Your Big Day

If you are interested in this style, please reach out at least 3 to 4 weeks before your event. This allows us time to discuss the design details and ensure my schedule is clear for the extended session time this work requires. I am based in Virar West, but I travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area and beyond for destination weddings. My goal is to ensure that when your mehendi darkens, the faces of you and your partner are clear, recognizable, and a beautiful part of your wedding album.
