My Yoga Practice and Learning Journey
Yoga is a lifelong discovery, not a destination. Here, I share the messy, beautiful reality of my practice—the stretches, the stumbles, and the small wins that keep me going.
Finding my balance with Sirsasana (headstand). This pose requires core strength, focus, and patience, all qualities we cultivate together in my holistic wellness program.
I am passionate about teaching the correct technique. Here, I explain the true 8 asanas of Surya Namaskar, helping you make your practice more powerful and effective.
Here are 5 tips to perform Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge) correctly. Focusing on small details like breath and alignment can completely change the effectiveness of a pose.
My yoga practice is not confined to the mat. It extends to how I live, finding moments of peace whether I am tending to my plants or flowing through asanas in my home.
Working towards Hanumanasana (the splits) requires consistent practice to improve hip flexibility. This video shows some of the preparatory poses I use to open the hips.
Utthita Paschimottanasana is a deep stretch that challenges your limits. Feeling the stretch shows that I am working the right way, making each session more effective.
A dynamic flow expressing gratitude. This sequence combines backbends and hip openers, showing how yoga can be a powerful and magical form of self-expression.
Yoga is a tool for focus. Here, I am practicing a standing leg raise amidst the ancient pillars of Hampi, showing that you can find your center anywhere.
The full split, or Hanumanasana, in a historic setting. This pose represents a leap of faith and dedication, reminding us that with practice, anything is possible.
Finding balance and poise. Yoga is not just about physical postures; it's about cultivating an inner stillness that you can carry with you off the mat.
About My Personal Yoga Journey
You will notice my practice isn’t always Instagram-perfect. I share these clips to show that yoga is about showing up and listening to your body, whether you are holding a steady headstand or working through a stiff hip. It is not about the final shape, but the patience you build along the way.
Yoga is a practice, not a performance. If you see me struggling with a deeper split or holding a pose against a wall, it is because real progress happens in the process. When I teach, I focus on the sahi tarika (right technique) because yoga, when done with poor alignment, creates more tension than relief. Whether it is correcting the 12 steps of Surya Namaskar to realize it is actually 8 asanas repeated, or using props to master low lunges (Anjaneyasana), I want my students to understand why we move the way we do.
Why Alignment Matters
Most people come to me with back pain or stiffness from desk jobs. We fix this by focusing on:
- Slow Progression: We don't rush into full splits or deep backbends. We use preparatory asanas to open the hips and hamstrings safely.
- Prop Usage: Using blocks and straps allows you to maintain the correct form even if your body isn't flexible yet.
- Breath Awareness: The breath is your guide. If you are struggling to breathe, you are pushing too hard.
My Philosophy
I believe in tapas (discipline). Whether you are joining my 30-day intensive in Sector 104 or trying a weekend session, the goal is the same: building a body that is lachila (flexible), furtila (agile), and taakatvar (strong). If you are looking for magic or quick fixes, this is not the place for you. But if you are ready to put in the work and move from the couch to the mat, I will be with you every step of the way.
