Practical Farm Workshops for Students & Youth
We bring students out of the classroom and into the soil. Through hands-on farm visits and workshops in Bengaluru, we teach children and young adults where their food comes from, how composting works, and the basics of sustainable farming.
Little hands learning the ways of composting. We love watching students get immersed in the process, becoming young ambassadors of sustainability who are ready to carry the message back to their communities.
Curiosity, learning, and connection. We are filled with gratitude to welcome young minds to our farm, where we hope to inspire them to live consciously and make thoughtful decisions that honor both people and planet.
From growing to marketing. We are so proud of our students from HCC for hosting their own farmers market, selling carrots, tomatoes, and cabbage they grew themselves in our urban farm plot.
Students learn about modern farming techniques and reading food labels at their annual farmers market. Our programs go beyond just planting to cover the entire food system.
Freshly harvested leafy greens and informational posters at the student-run farmers market. We empower students with knowledge about the nutritional value of the food they grow.
BBA students from Christ University get a hands on lesson with an Aero Tower, a key innovation in urban farming that enhances productivity in limited spaces.
An insightful session with BBA students from Christ University, exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in sustainable farming and high tech horticulture. The future of agriculture is bright with these young leaders.
About this collection
Whether you are a school coordinator planning an industrial visit or a group of college students looking for a deeper dive into agribusiness, we don't do theory-heavy lectures. Your group will get their hands in the mud, learning to build vertical aeroponic towers, setting up composting units, and understanding the market economics of the vegetables they harvest.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Agriculture is a skill, not just a subject. At our Kumbalgodu and Jayanagar centers, we invite students of all ages to step away from textbooks and experience the food cycle directly. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, whether it is for a school day-out or a university-level industrial visit.
What Students Experience
- Composting & Soil Health: We teach the science of waste, showing kids how household scraps turn into nutrient-rich soil. It is a lesson in sustainability that they can replicate at home.
- High-Tech Horticulture: For college students and older youth, we demonstrate the business side of farming. We cover protected cultivation, hydroponic setups, and even the market dynamics of growing exotic produce like cherry tomatoes and bell peppers.
- Practical Agripreneurship: We encourage students to look at farming as a career. We discuss government schemes, subsidies, and the economics of starting an urban farm, helping the next generation understand that sustainable agriculture is a viable and necessary business.
Why It Matters
We believe that when a child understands where their food comes from, they make better choices about what they eat and how they live. We provide a space where mistakes are part of the process and learning happens through trial and error. Our goal is to plant seeds of environmental consciousness that will grow long after the visit ends. If you want to plan a visit, we are ready to host your group for a day of discovery.
AgroTIE
We are AgroTIE, a team of educators who believe the future of farming is built in the classroom and on the field. We have spent the last 7 years mixing Indo-Dutch techniques with our own Indian soil, helping thousands of students move from textbook theory to real, muddy-handed action.
