Stop reading about farming and start doing it. Join our practical sessions at our Kumbalgodu Centre to learn greenhouse management and crop cycles using proven Indo-Dutch methods.

Join us for our one week intensive hydroponics training. This video gives you a glimpse of our thriving Indo-Dutch demo greenhouse where you will get hands on experience with modern farming techniques.

It's all hands on deck when the crops need attention. Here, a volunteer helps with pruning and maintenance in our tomato greenhouse, a vital part of our daily operations.

About this collection

In our training, you will not just watch presentations. You will spend your days inside our working polyhouse, learning how to manage vine crops like cherry tomatoes and capsicum. Whether it is pruning, trellising with Dutch hooks, or calibrating EC and pH meters for nutrient solutions, you handle the actual tools and processes that commercial farms use every day.

Why Protected Cultivation Matters

Farming in India is shifting. As erratic weather patterns make open-field farming challenging, protected cultivation in polyhouses and net houses offers a way to control the environment. This is not just about keeping the rain off; it is about precision agriculture. By controlling temperature, humidity, and nutrient intake, you get higher yields and consistent quality, which is crucial for market access.

What You Will Master

Our curriculum at the AgroTIE Centre of Excellence in Kumbalgodu covers the full lifecycle of a crop:

  • Infrastructure & Setup: Learn the difference between polyhouse and net house structures, how to set up automated irrigation, and the logic behind climate control.
  • Hydroponic Science: We strip away the complexity of soilless farming. You will learn to prepare coco peat, mix nutrient stock solutions, and understand the vital balance of EC (Electrical Conductivity) and pH levels.
  • Daily Maintenance: A greenhouse is a living system. We teach you crop planning, seedling management, pruning techniques, and how to identify and manage pests using biological controls rather than harsh chemicals.
  • Commercial Viability: Beyond the science, we discuss the economics. We guide you on crop selection based on market demand and, for our long-term trainees, how to navigate government subsidies and project report preparation.

Learn the Indo-Dutch Way

We bring global standards to local soil. Our techniques combine Dutch precision—known for efficiency in protected cultivation—with the realities of the Indian climate and market. Whether you are an urbanite looking to start a terrace greenhouse, a farmer wanting to diversify into exotic crops, or a student seeking a career in agritech, these sessions provide the technical foundation you need to succeed.
