Strengthening the Parent-School Partnership at AES
We believe the best learning happens when home and school are on the same page. From our new family orientation to daily classroom interactions, we ensure our parents are active, connected partners in every child's AES journey.
Our High School Back to School Night is a fantastic opportunity for parents to walk in their child's shoes for an evening. You can follow their daily schedule, meet teachers, and get a firsthand look at the curriculum.

At the Elementary School Back to School Night, we open our classrooms to families to strengthen the home-school connection. It's a time for parents to understand our teaching and learning approach and partner with us to help every child grow.

About The Parent-School Partnership
Parent involvement at AES goes beyond checking grades or attending formal meetings. During our Back to School Nights, you walk in your child's shoes—following their daily schedule, meeting their teachers, and understanding the curriculum firsthand so you can support their growth at home.
At AES, we view education as a collaborative journey. Our Parent School Association (PSA) serves as the heartbeat of this partnership, ensuring that whether you have just arrived in Delhi or have been here for years, you have a place to belong.
The PSA and Community Life
The PSA is much more than a committee. It helps keep our traditions alive, from organizing the annual Activities Mela to coordinating the Staff Appreciation Brunches. These parent volunteers are often the first friendly faces new families encounter, offering practical advice on living in India, navigating the city, and settling into school life.
Partnering Through Transition
We know that moving schools—or moving countries—is a significant shift. We provide support from the moment you arrive, with dedicated 'New to Delhi' sessions hosted by fellow parents who share the honest, on-the-ground reality of life in the capital. This practical guidance helps families manage logistics, find community, and integrate into the Chanakyapuri campus life.
Staying Connected
We keep communication open through regular parent workshops, Back to School nights across our Elementary, Middle, and High School divisions, and clear digital portals. Whether we are celebrating milestones like 'Grade 5 Crossing the Bridge' or working through the RAFT (Reconciliation, Affirmation, Farewell, Think Destination) framework when it is time to leave, we ensure that parents remain a core part of the student experience. By involving you in our 'Ask the Director' series and various school clubs, we make sure that school is not just a place where you drop off your children, but a community where you belong.
American Embassy School
We’re AES, and we’ve been building this diverse community in Chanakyapuri for over 70 years. Whether you are here for a short term or a lifetime, we make sure your family becomes a part of our heartbeat through every milestone and celebration.
