About Celebrating Milestones & Traditions
These traditions are community-led rather than just school-mandated. Whether it is our Parent School Association organizing a Senior Brunch or Grade 3 students writing letters to graduating seniors, every milestone event is designed to foster connection across grade levels. It is how we ensure that as children grow, they feel seen, supported, and part of a larger story here in Chanakyapuri.
At AES, we understand that a school is more than just classrooms and curricula. It is a home for families from over 70 countries. Our traditions are the threads that weave our diverse community together, helping students navigate the transitions that define their K-12 experience.
Marking the Transitions
Transitions can be daunting, but we handle them with care. The 'Crossing the Bridge' ceremony for our Grade 5 students is a rite of passage, helping them emotionally shift from the familiarity of Elementary School to the independence of Middle School. Similarly, our 'Moving Up' events for Grade 8 and the final Senior Walkthrough are designed to let students pause and celebrate their growth alongside teachers, parents, and friends who have been part of their journey.
The Parent-School Partnership
Our traditions rely on a strong partnership between home and school. The Parent School Association (PSA) is the heartbeat of these events. From the International Food Festival to the Mela, our parents are hands-on, ensuring that these celebrations reflect our vibrant, international spirit. When a senior enjoys a movie night in the atrium or receives a gift from a Grade 3 buddy, it is a testament to the community we have built over the last 73 years.

When a student knows they are part of a 'Tiger' community that celebrates their progress—whether they are learning to read in Pre-K or preparing for IB exams—they gain the confidence to embrace new challenges.
