Championing Public Interest and Environmental Law
Public interest law is more than paperwork for me; it is about standing up when the system fails to deliver. From restoring the Jojari river to protecting constitutional rights, my work is driven by the belief that law must be balanced with equity.
The voices of the villagers affected by the pollution of the Jojari river. This video shows their struggle, with chemical-laden water destroying their farms and poisoning their livestock. It is for them that we are fighting for environmental justice in the Supreme Court.
With my team at the Supreme Court, fighting for the future of around 900 dental doctors. We challenged an order that threatened their registration, and the Apex Court took cognizance, hinting at an equitable relief under Article 142 of the Constitution.
Standing with a passionate citizen litigant at the Delhi High Court. We successfully argued against a corrupt builder mafia, resulting in a demolition order for an illegal construction. This was a victory for citizen activism and the rule of law.
Explaining the legal and environmental stakes of the Jojari river pollution case to the media. The river is a lifeline for the entire Jodhpur region, and administrative apathy cannot be allowed to destroy it.
Giving a media byte on the Jojari river case. I am outlining the geographical and ecological impact of the industrial discharge, which affects three districts in Rajasthan.
In an interview with a news channel, detailing our contempt petition against authorities for failing to comply with the National Green Tribunal's orders to clean up the Jojari river.
Alongside my junior colleague, briefing the press on the Supreme Court hearing regarding the Jojari river pollution. Public awareness is a crucial part of our strategy in public interest litigation.
About Championing Public & Environmental Causes
When you approach me with a public cause, I look beyond the black-letter law to see where the system is failing and how we can force accountability. In the Jojari river pollution case, I did not just file papers; I engaged with the community to understand how industrial discharge was destroying their livelihood. Whether the matter involves tackling environmental neglect, protecting professional rights, or challenging institutional overreach, I build a strategy that forces the court to look at the practical human cost, not just the technicalities.
My Approach to Public Interest Litigation
Public interest law is an inner calling that requires patience and persistent effort. My practice is built on a simple premise: the law must serve the people, not just the machinery of the state. It is not a nine-to-five job; it involves burning the midnight oil to build a case that holds up against powerful interests.
Environmental Justice and Accountability
My recent work with the Jojari river restoration is a testament to what happens when communities fight back. We did not just argue about pollution in a vacuum. We brought evidence of how chemical-laden water destroyed farms and poisoned livestock in Jodhpur, Pali, and Balotra districts. When I challenge authorities in the Supreme Court, I focus on specific, actionable failures—such as the non-functional Zero Sewage Treatment Plant—to ensure the bench sees the reality on the ground.
Constitutional Rights and Institutional Balance
I believe the Constitution relies on a delicate balance. The Parliament makes laws, and the Supreme Court interprets them. When one institution enters another's power, the country suffers. This philosophy drives my representation in matters like the Article 370 hearings or protecting the registration rights of dental doctors. We look for equitable relief under Article 142 of the Constitution when strict, unyielding law creates an injustice.
Fighting Tough Battles
I do not shy away from conflict. Whether it is a builder mafia constructing illegal property in South Delhi or a case of corruption, I prepare my team—my 'Devils'—to fight at every level of the court system. We handle everything from the initial feasibility audit to the final argument. If your case demands a strong stand against institutional apathy, I am ready to advocate for you.
