About Modern & Earthy Kitchens
I focus on a 'minimalist-first' approach, often using handleless cabinets in deep, matte tones or natural wood veneers to keep the visual noise low. A kitchen needs to be a workspace, not just a showpiece, so I always prioritize a smart work triangle and efficient task lighting to ensure your counters stay usable and clutter-free, no matter the size of the room.
When designing kitchens, my process goes beyond choosing colors. It starts with how light moves through the space and how you actually use your countertops. Whether we are planning a kitchen from scratch or renovating a tired existing layout, I lean into materials that age gracefully—think wire-cut bricks, natural granite, and oil-treated oak shutters.
The Material Palette
I avoid generic laminates whenever possible. For a truly earthy feel, I prefer BWP Marine Ply for longevity, paired with textures like rattan or fluted wood to add depth. We often source locally, integrating green marble or granite worktops that provide a cooling, solid foundation for the daily rigors of cooking. The result is a space that feels grounded and connected to the rest of your home.
Form Meeting Function
Many of our projects in Bengaluru involve transforming older apartments. This often means working with existing plumbing and electrical constraints. My team and I handle these structural challenges, ensuring that while the kitchen looks minimal, the internal organization—the deep drawers, corner carousels, and pantry units—is optimized for your specific cooking habits.
The Biophilic Touch
I believe a kitchen should breathe. That is why I always look for ways to bring the outdoors in, even in small apartments. This might mean designing a dedicated corner for indoor herbs near a window or using natural stone that feels cool to the touch. The goal is to build a kitchen that isn't just a place to finish chores, but a space where you genuinely want to spend time.
