What Dance Means for Us
Dance is how we connect, not just perform. We start simple - ek do, teen (one, two, three) - but every beat has meaning. For us, every show is about building a community and sharing stories that go deeper than steps.
Our Productions & Collaborations
We put together original choreography showcases that bring together styles and ideas. Sometimes it’s a fusion, like "TATSAMA TADBHAVA", where we mixed Contemporary with Bharatanatyam to talk about origins and truth. Other times, it’s full-on physical theatre, like "QUEUE", with a big cast and pro stage design. We also perform artistic works at contemporary dance festivals, showing pieces like "ME & MY PILLOW".
Platform for New and Seasoned Dancers
The stage isn’t just for pros. We love giving everyone a shot. SparkLights is our annual event where over 120 students perform - from tiny tots to grown-ups, in styles like Bollywood, Ballet, Contemporary, and Bharatanatyam. For those wanting to create their own work, Canvas Festival is our emerging dance artists platform, and Chota Canvas is for younger dancers.
Celebrating Together
We’re big on community, so we host intimate studio events for festivals like Varamahalakshmi and Vijayadashami. There’s a puja, then dance performances, and the vibe is just pura festive (totally festive).

My Story
Hey, we’re Abstratics. Been at this for 11 years now, all about dance, community, and making a real home for movers. We started things like Canvas Dance Festival and SparkLights so dancers get their own stage, not just a classroom. Our style? We mix contemporary freedom with Bharatanatyam storytelling, like in Tatsama Tadbhava. Every show, every class—big thanks to everyone who’s danced with us. It’s been quite a ride, and we’re still grooving.
My Work
