I call my crochet sessions 'New Age Yoga.' It is a chance to slow down, breathe, and find a little bit of calm through the rhythmic, meditative art of stitching.

Listen to a student describe the "immense happiness and satisfaction" she feels from her crochet practice. This feeling of inner peace and accomplishment is the core of what I teach in my mindful crochet sessions.

The smiles say it all. I call this 'Kind Therapy' because the process of crocheting together is a kind way to heal, reducing stress and fostering a sense of community and shared joy.

From a young girl proudly wearing her handmade poncho to women learning together in a village, crochet connects us. This is the essence of 'Crochet Yoga', a practice that nurtures the body and soul through creative expression.

About Mindful Crochet: Your 'New Age Yoga'

In these sessions, we focus on the rhythm of the stitch rather than just the final product. Even if you have never held a hook before, you will leave with a finished piece like a coaster or bookmark and, more importantly, a simple technique you can use at home whenever you need a mental reset. It is two hours of screen-free time designed to help you find that quiet space to just be.

Why do I call this 'New Age Yoga'? Because the repetitive motion of looping yarn is a form of active meditation. When you are focused on the tension of your thread and the movement of the hook, the noise of a busy day tends to fade into the background.

What to expect in a session

My studio in Mayfield Garden, Gurugram, is set up for small, intimate groups of 3 to 5 participants. This size allows me to give everyone personal attention. We start by getting comfortable with the basics—how to hold the hook, managing yarn tension, and making your first knot.

We provide everything you need:

  • A cotton or acrylic yarn ball
  • A standard 3mm-5mm crochet hook
  • A printed guide with stitch diagrams to take home
  • Tea, coffee, and light refreshments

Is this for you?

You do not need to be 'crafty' to start. Whether you are a parent looking for a creative escape, someone dealing with daily stress, or just curious about learning a new skill, you are welcome. This is a non-judgmental space. We celebrate every 'oops' moment as part of the learning process. The goal is not perfection; it is the feeling of accomplishment when you see a shape emerge from a loose thread.

If you are interested in continuing after your first workshop, I offer structured courses ranging from beginner modules to professional artisan certification. But for now, just come, sit with us, and let’s make something together.
