Where pottery meets poetry. My Gul and Kolam collections are born from the quiet rituals of floral artistry and the rhythmic, intricate traditions of my roots.

Announcing the 'Gul' collection, a showcase of ethereal, hand-painted ceramics. Each piece is a fusion of my love for pottery and floral artistry, designed to bring tranquility and elegance to your home.

A glimpse of a hand-painted cup and saucer from the 'Gul' collection. The delicate floral motifs are painted with care, making each piece a functional work of art.

The 'Gul' collection features a range of dinnerware and drinkware. Here you can see the hand-painted bowls and plates, each with its own unique floral design.

Presenting the bowls from the 'Gul' collection, a symphony of florals and ceramics. The intricate, hand-painted designs are a reminder of the importance of life's little details.

These tumblers from the 'Gul' collection are perched elegantly on their pedestals. Adorned with delicate floral motifs, they are perfect for serving refreshing drinks with a touch of sophistication.

The coupe plates from the 'Gul' collection are rimless with a slightly raised wall, perfect for both casual and formal dining. The dainty floral paintings make them a beautiful addition to any table setting.

The 'Gul' collection includes an eclectic array of vases, from tall bud vases to short, stout ones. Each is thoughtfully designed for different flower arrangement preferences and adorned with hand-painted florals.

For the first time, I'm introducing ceramic lamps with gorgeous hand-painted bases as part of the 'Gul' collection. The soft glow of the naked bulb creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The 'Kolam' collection is a celebration of my deep respect for craft and culture. These pieces are adorned with the intricate, continuous line patterns of Kolam, a tradition from my hometown.

A moment of quiet ritual with pieces from the 'Kolam' collection. The patterns, drawn with rice flour in my childhood, are here captured permanently in clay, a tribute to home and memory.

About Signature Collections: Gul & Kolam

These are not just display pieces; they are functional companions for your home. Whether it is the fluid, hand-painted floral strokes of the Gul collection or the precise, geometric line work of the Kolam series, each item is thrown on the wheel and fired at high temperatures. They are built for daily life—microwave and dishwasher safe—so you can enjoy using them for your morning tea or dinner gatherings without worry.

The Gul and Kolam collections are two of my most personal projects at A Ware Studio. They represent the two halves of my creative heart—the free-flowing joy of nature and the disciplined beauty of tradition.

The Gul Collection

This collection is a tribute to the simplicity of flowers. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment of joy you get from seeing a bloom, but fix it permanently in clay. Each piece is individually hand-painted, so the floral motifs dance differently on every cup, plate, and vase. We use high-fire stoneware to ensure durability, making these pieces perfect for everyday table settings that need a touch of softness.

The Kolam Collection

This work is deeply rooted in my childhood memories. Kolam patterns, traditionally drawn with rice flour at the doorstep, are about rhythm and continuity. In this collection, I have translated those ephemeral lines into permanent ceramic engravings. These pieces carry a grounded, earthen weight and are finished with glazes that complement the intricate carvings, making them ideal for someone who appreciates clean lines and cultural heritage.

Everything you see here is made by hand in our Indiranagar studio in Bengaluru. Because we use small-batch firing processes, no two pieces are identical. When you choose a piece from these collections, you are bringing home a small piece of our studio's story.

I'm Namrata, and at A Ware Studio, we believe clay is a vessel for stories, not just liquids. Gul and Kolam represent the bridge between the art I teach and the heritage I carry in my hands every day. Each piece is hand-thrown and painted with intention, ensuring that what you hold is truly one-of-a-kind.
