Pottery Workshops and Community Classes in Bengaluru
Our studio is a space for slow-made ceramics and deep learning. Whether you are looking to ground yourself in a one-day workshop or commit to our 8-month professional pottery course, we offer a place to practice, create, and grow alongside a community of makers.
ÜGAM is our annual celebration of clay, community, and quiet revolutions. It's a one-day exhibition and sale that brings together emerging artists, hobbyists, and storytellers to share their work.
After running quietly through word-of-mouth, I'm opening applications for my professional pottery course. This 8-month immersive is for anyone serious about building a creative livelihood through clay.
We've been asked for years, and it's finally here: our first comprehensive hand-building course. This is a 12-session, full-spectrum experience where you'll learn to shape memory, weight, and structure in clay.
ÜGAM isn't just an event; it's a reminder of the many hands and hearts that support this community. This is a glimpse of the energy and connection that makes it all possible.
I'm thrilled to share the progress of my current professional program students. After over 600 hours of dedicated practice, they are creating beautiful drinkware, serveware, and decorative pieces.
Meet one of our graduating students, Pareecca. Her 'Rock Collection' was inspired by her fascination with transforming soft clay into something that looks and feels tough and sturdy.
Meet Aastha, another graduating potter. Her collection, 'Dhora', is inspired by the shifting beauty of sand dunes and her journey with coffee, deserts, and design.
Meet Sundari, whose 'Kolam Collection' is a tribute to the ephemeral beauty of the rice flour patterns from her childhood in Madurai. Her work is a beautiful blend of science and art.
A look inside my notebook, where I plan lessons and track progress for my professional pottery course. The program is structured, rigorous, and hands-on, designed to help students build a body of work.
In our hand-building course, we start with simple forms and build toward structure, scale, and composition. Students learn to speak the sculptural language of clay.
About A Ware Studio: Workshops & Community
Pottery is rarely about the first attempt. In our workshops, we focus on the rhythm of the wheel and the patience required for hand-building, knowing that the most valuable lesson often comes when the clay collapses. Our studio in Indiranagar is designed for this exact process—we provide the technical environment, but you bring the curiosity to let the clay speak.
Learning at A Ware Studio is not about churning out perfect mugs. It is about understanding the material.
Our Learning Paths
- One-Day Experiential Workshops: Perfect for beginners who want to touch clay and understand the basics of pinching or wheel-throwing without a long-term commitment. It is a slow, tactile introduction to the medium.
- 12-Session Hand-Building Course: A full-spectrum experience. We move beyond simple forms into structural integrity and surface design. You will explore pinching, coiling, and slab-building, taking your work from raw clay to a finished, glazed piece.
- 8-Month Professional Pottery Course: This is our most rigorous program. Designed for those serious about building a creative livelihood, we cover everything from technical high-fire stoneware and glaze chemistry to real-world studio management. You graduate with a body of work and the confidence to run your own practice.
Why Our Studio is Different
We are based in Indiranagar, but we operate like a village. We believe that pottery is a dialogue. Whether you are learning Kurinuki techniques or mastering the drip-free pour of a teapot, you are doing it in a shared space. We do not just teach technical skills; we hold space for the messy, unglamorous, and deeply rewarding reality of being a potter. Expect to leave with clay under your fingernails, a better understanding of how your hands interact with the earth, and a community of peers who are on the same journey of discovery.
A Ware Studio
I started this studio because I missed the mess and magic of clay. Here, we teach more than just technique; we hold space for you to slow down, get your hands dirty, and discover the stories hidden in the earth.
