My Daily Yoga Practice: Asanas and Flows for Strength
The mat is my sanctuary. Here is where I explore Hatha and Ashtanga flows, grounding myself so I can guide you better in our shala.
A fluid transition from Sirsasana (Headstand) with lotus legs into Bakasana (Crow Pose), a sequence that challenges balance, core strength, and concentration.
The journey of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (One-Legged King Pigeon Pose). This was in February 2022, a reminder that consistency is the key to progress.
Progress in the same pose, Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. With consistent hard work, the body opens and greatness follows.
The full expression of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. This journey from where I started to now shows that dedication truly transforms your practice.
Atha yoganusasanam: Now, the practice of yoga begins. Finding the balance of effort and ease in this deep hip-opening split.
Exploring a deep backbend in Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, focusing on opening the heart and thoracic spine.
"My body is my temple and Asanas are my prayers." A moment of surrender and opening in this Pigeon Pose variation.
Taking time to make my soul happy with a deep backbend, opening the heart in a variation of King Pigeon Pose.
A short flow showing the progression into Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. Each movement is an opportunity to connect with the breath and embrace a fresh start.
In backbends, we touch every part of our being. Moving into the full expression of this pose is a spiritual, mental, and physical experience.
About My Personal Practice: Asanas & Flows
My practice isn't about nailing a perfect inversion. It is about the years of consistent preparation and breathwork required to get there safely. When you see me in these flows, remember that every movement is built on the same alignment principles I use to guide my students in our Mulund studio.
For me, the yoga mat is a laboratory. It is where I test, refine, and experience the asanas before bringing them into our group sessions at Kaya Yoga Studio.
My personal flow is a blend of Hatha stability and the dynamic movement of Ashtanga. When you look at these photos, you are seeing the 'alignment first' philosophy in action. Whether I am transitioning into a scorpion pose or finding balance in a headstand, my focus remains on the spine. If your spine is happy, your practice will be sustainable.
I encourage all my students, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner, to view your own practice this way—not as a performance, but as a path to self-love. We do not just do yoga to get bendy. We do it to quiet the mind, build genuine strength, and connect with our breath.
If you are looking for a community in Mulund West that values technique, anatomy, and spiritual growth, come join us at our shala. We offer everything from beginner Hatha classes to intensive alignment workshops, ensuring you have the support you need to build a lifelong practice.
