About this collection
In our sessions, I weave in mantra chanting and pranayama alongside asanas, guided by the traditional lineage of my Guru, Acharya Bharath Shetty. It is not just about physical flexibility; it is about using these ancient tools to quiet your mind and find a steady, calm center in your daily life.
Finding Your Inner Calm
Yoga isn't just a workout; it is a discipline of the mind. At Kaya, we move beyond just perfecting the posture. We focus on the why and the how—how your breath dictates your energy, and how stillness can be more challenging than movement.
My approach is rooted in the Hatha and Ashtanga traditions, but it is deeply personal. I include pranayama (breath control) and dhyana (meditation) because I have seen how they help my students manage the stress of city life. Whether you are struggling with a busy mind or just looking for a space to breathe, these sessions are designed to help you reconnect.
Why This Practice Matters
- Alignment-First: We don't rush. We focus on alignment so you can build strength safely, preventing injuries rather than creating them.
- Spiritual Roots: We incorporate mantra chanting to set the tone, creating a space that feels safe, sacred, and removed from the outside noise.
- Pranayama & Meditation: These aren't add-ons; they are core components of my teaching. We explore techniques like Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom to regulate your nervous system.
How We Practice
If you join us at our Mulund West shala, you get the benefit of tactile adjustments and props like wall ropes for spinal traction. If you are joining my online classes, I guide you through the same principles via live feedback, ensuring your form and breath are working in harmony. You don't need to be advanced to start; you just need to show up.
Kaya Yoga Studio
Namaste, I’m Karishma. I built Kaya Yoga Studio to be more than a gym; it’s a space where we use breath, alignment, and ancient wisdom to navigate modern life. Whether you’re joining us in Mulund or online, my goal is to guide you back to your own sense of peace.
