Featured Artworks and Creative Explorations
A collection of my work that spans from traditional Kalamkari narratives to the quiet beauty of everyday objects, all captured through my sketchbook and studio practice.
This colored pencil drawing captures a familiar sight: a Golgappa stall. I love finding art in everyday moments, and this piece, rendered on brown paper to enhance the textures, is a tribute to the simple joys and vibrant street culture of India.
"ಕೃಷ್ಣಂ ವಂದೇ ಜಗದ್ಗುರುಮ್". This is a traditional Kalamkari ink drawing of Lord Krishna, set against a bold blue background. The intricate line work and classic composition are central to my exploration of Indian heritage and spiritual art.
Here is my finished acrylic painting of the Yana rock formations, held up against the actual landscape that inspired it. For me, art is about connecting with a place, and this piece, created from a live sketch, is a direct memory of my journey through Uttara Kannada.
A look into my process of drawing the delicate Champaka flower. Using colored pencils on brown paper, I build up layers of color and shadow, observing the flower directly to capture its form and fragility.
"Everything you can imagine is real." This piece is a surrealist take on an everyday object. I imagined a toothbrush with teeth for bristles, a playful and thought-provoking concept brought to life with colored pencils.
This video shows the process of a rapid pen sketch of a jeep in Coorg, done on a foggy day. Live sketching during my travels allows me to capture the immediate atmosphere and energy of a moment.
A moment from my exhibition at the IIWC Art Gallery. It is always a pleasure to see people connect with my work and to share the stories behind each piece.
This Kalamkari-style drawing depicts one of the forms of Navadurga, set against a vibrant watercolor wash. This piece is part of a larger series celebrating the divine feminine through traditional Indian line art.
About Featured
Whether it is a street food stall or the delicate veins of a Champaka flower, I believe art is about noticing what others walk past. Every piece here uses professional materials—like toned kraft paper or archival ink—to ensure the texture and lighting are just right. If you see a concept here that resonates with you, I can adapt that specific style for a custom piece.
My approach to art is deeply rooted in observation. I do not just paint subjects; I interpret the anubhava (experience) of the moment.
My Creative Process
- Everyday Studies: My object studies, like the toothbrush with teeth or local street scenes, explore the surreal in the mundane. These are typically done in colored pencil on toned paper to emphasize light and texture.
- Kalamkari & Tradition: For my traditional work, I use archival ink and acrylic washes to honor classic Indian forms, such as the intricate line-work of Lord Krishna or the Navadurga. These pieces require a high level of precision and patience.
- Travel Sketching: My sketchbooks hold the immediate energy of Karnataka’s landscapes—from the rock formations in Yana to the foggy mornings in Coorg. These are often live sketches done on the spot.
Logistics & Care
Every original artwork comes with a physical Certificate of Authenticity. For shipping safety, all A4 and A3 pieces are flat-packed between rigid honeycomb boards. Please note that for outstation deliveries, I provide the artwork mounted but unframed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. For Bengaluru-based clients, I can facilitate framing for larger traditional pieces.
