Object Studies: The Beauty in the Everyday
I find inspiration in the objects we see and use daily, things that tell a story of our culture and lives. This collection features detailed colored pencil drawings on brown paper, capturing everything from street food stalls and traditional items to surreal interpretations of mundane things.
Kalamkari & Traditional Art
This is my exploration of traditional Indian art forms, particularly Kalamkari ink drawings. Each piece is a meditation on divine figures and mythology, created with fine lines and a blend of acrylics, poster colors, and watercolors for the background washes. This series includes depictions of Krishna, the Navadurga, Ganesha, and scenes from the Ramayana.
The Artist's Sketchbook: Travels Across Karnataka & Beyond
My sketchbook is my constant travel companion, a place to capture moments as they happen. This collection features on-the-spot sketches and paintings from my journeys, from the misty hills of Coorg and the rock formations of Yana to the architectural marvels of ancient temples. These pieces are created using pen, pencil, and acrylics, reflecting the immediate energy of the location.
Nature & Floral Studies
I am deeply moved by the delicate details of the natural world. This series focuses on flowers, like the fragrant Champaka, and the intricate patterns of butterfly wings. I use mixed media, primarily colored pencils on brown paper, to explore their form, texture, and the emotions they evoke.
