Handmade Indian Folk Art Paintings
Every piece you see here is sketched and painted by me, stroke by stroke. These are my favourite picks, blending the warmth of Kerala murals and the bold stories of Madhubani art.
This is one of my most detailed works, a Kerala mural painting of Murali Madhava. I poured my heart into the fine lines and rich, earthy colors to capture the divine presence of Krishna playing his flute. This 14x18 inch piece is a centerpiece for any room.
Here is a little glimpse into my process. You can see how I bring a painting to life, starting from a simple sketch and adding color stroke by stroke. Every piece is completely handmade with lots of love and patience.
I love the vibrant energy of Madhubani art. This painting of Radha and Krishna captures their divine love using the bold patterns and bright colors that are signatures of this beautiful folk art style from Bihar.
This sweet, framed Ganesha painting is perfect for bringing good energy to a small space. I designed this 9x8 inch piece to be a lovely addition to a desk or a thoughtful gift for a new beginning.
This is my tribute to the culture of Kerala, a Kathakali face painting. The striking green and intricate details represent the classic characters from this traditional dance form. It comes framed and ready to add a touch of drama to your wall.
A painting of the goddess Andal, a symbol of divine love and devotion. I used a traditional color palette on this 13x12 inch piece to create a beautiful and affordable decoration that feels timeless.
The Hamsa, or divine swan, represents beauty and balance. I painted this in the Kerala mural style against a bold red background to make the colors pop. This 9x10 inch framed piece is a small symbol of elegance.
I love seeing my art find a home. This small, 9x10 inch framed painting of Narayana is shown here on a study desk, bringing a moment of peace and color to an everyday space. It makes a wonderful personal keepsake.
About Featured
I create all my work on 250-300 GSM heavy cartridge paper to ensure the colours stay vibrant, then finish each piece with a sturdy synthetic wood frame. Whether it is a small 7x7 desk piece or a larger 14x18 wall hanging, every frame comes ready to hang with a metal hook on the back, so you do not have to worry about finding the right fittings for your wall.
Bringing Traditional Art Home
I believe that traditional Indian art shouldn't just be for museums. That is why I focus on making handmade Indian folk art that fits into everyday life. Whether you are looking for a vibrant piece to brighten up your desk or a meaningful gift for a housewarming, I paint with the hope that my work brings a little joy to your space.
The Techniques I Use
My work typically falls into two major styles:
- Kerala Murals: I use deep, earthy reds, greens, and golds to capture the divine. This style requires a lot of patience, particularly when painting intricate jewellery or the subtle expressions of deities like Lord Krishna or Andal.
- Madhubani Art: This style is all about boldness. I love using geometric patterns and vibrant colours to tell stories. It is perfect if you want a statement piece that catches the eye.
Quality and Framing
I do not believe in shortcuts. Every sketch is done by hand before I pick up a brush. For my larger commissions, I use canvas textures or fine art paper and finish them with a clear varnish to keep the dust and UV rays away. My goal is to ensure that when you hold a painting, you feel the texture of the strokes and the love that went into making it.
