Behind the Scenes: The Cakecious Story
I started with a dream and a simple home oven. Today, I am sharing the reality behind the cakes, the workshops, and the hustle of running a home bakery in Mumbai.
This is me, living my dream. From traveling in a rickshaw to attending a professional pastry course, this journey has been on my wishlist for so long and I'm so happy it's finally a reality.
A proud moment, holding my certificate of completion from the School for European Pastry. This was a dream come true and a huge step in my professional journey.
A baker's dream tool, now a reality in my kitchen. Unboxing and setting up my professional-grade stand mixer was a huge milestone for my small business.
Meet my new baking partner, my Unox oven. I invested in this dream asset back in September, and it has been a game-changer for my baking.
A happy moment from my food exhibition stall. It was amazing to meet customers in person and share my passion for baking. We even won an award for our Korean Garlic Buns.
Dream it. Do it. Repeat. A short video showing me setting up cakes at an event. This is the rewarding result of all the hard work in the kitchen.
From making a simple cake at home just to see what happens, to receiving an award for my baking. This is how it started versus how it's going.
A little bit of baker's reality. Just because I bake cakes doesn't mean I'm running a "free cake foundation." Thank you for supporting my small business.
A new chapter begins. This is me in my baking space, ready to work smarter, build myself stronger, and embrace positive energy.
A glimpse into my day. From getting ready in a saree to making delicious chocolate fudge, this is a day in my life as a boss babe and baker.
About My Baking Journey: Behind the Scenes
People often ask if professional equipment makes the work easier. My stand mixer and Unox oven are absolute lifesavers, but they do not do the work for me. Whether I am prepping for a food exhibition or balancing a custom order while teaching a workshop, every bake is a real, hands-on process. This is not a free cake foundation, it is a business built on late nights, the right techniques, and a lot of heart.
When I first started, I thought I could just jump right in, but I quickly realized that baking is about foundation, not shortcuts. That is why I invested in professional training at the School for European Pastry. I wanted to move beyond just 'making a cake' to understanding the science of eggless baking.
My kitchen in Santacruz sees a lot of action. One day, I am testing a new recipe for a whole-wheat tea cake, and the next, I am packing custom gift hampers for a local festival. I believe in complete transparency about what I do. Yes, I take custom orders, but I am also a teacher. I run workshops for beginners who want to learn the same techniques I use, from scratch.
I am not a factory. When you see my work, you are seeing the result of me and my husband managing the logistics, the packaging, and the late-night prep. I have been very open about the struggles of this business because I want you to know the value behind the price. Whether you are ordering a bento cake for an anniversary or signing up for a workshop, you are supporting a dream I have worked very hard to build. If you have questions about my process or want to book a session, let’s talk.
