A festive Zumba Toning session. Even during the holidays, we find fun ways to incorporate strength training into our dance workouts.
Beyond dance, I also incorporate strength training into my personal fitness routine. This video shows a session focusing on back and upper body strength.
This video shows some of the fitness variations I incorporate into my classes. We do more than just dance; we focus on functional fitness moves too.

About Level Up: Specialty Classes
You don't need a full gym setup for these specialty routines. Grab a pair of light dumbbells or two water bottles, clear about 4x4 feet of space in your room, and you are ready. I incorporate these toning and strength variations because they help you build stability and muscle definition alongside our usual high-energy cardio.
When I say we go beyond dance, I mean it. My standard Zumba sessions are a blast, but these specialty classes are where you really start to feel the burn. We use specific formats like Zumba Toning, where we add resistance to the rhythm, and Zumba Step, which is fantastic for targeting the lower body. The goal here is functional fitness. We aren't just moving to the music; we are focusing on posture, core strength, and muscle endurance. If you find standard dance cardio gets a bit repetitive, these variations add that extra layer of challenge. Everything happens on a live Zoom call. Even though we are virtual, I keep the view interactive. I can see you, and you can see me, so I can ensure you are performing the movements safely. Whether you are using weights or just focusing on bodyweight resistance, the community energy keeps us all accountable. It is sweaty, it is challenging, and it is a lot of fun. If you have been dancing for a while and want to mix it up with some strength training, this is the perfect place to start.
