Student Music Performances & Progress
We believe the goal of learning music is to play it. See how our students form bands and perform live to gain confidence in just a few sessions.
Here is one of our student bands during a full-on jam session in our studio. We provide the space and guidance for students to connect and create music together, covering everything from vocals and electric guitar to bass and drums.
This video captures a moment from our group vocal lessons. Students of all ages learn together, led by an instructor on the harmonium. This collaborative setting is excellent for practicing harmonies and building confidence.
A throwback to a soulful jam session between two of our students, Ayaan on keyboard and Froilan on vocals. We foster an environment where students can explore different musical styles and collaborate on their own projects.
About Student Performances & Progress
You'll notice our students don't spend months trapped in theory books. We focus on 'bariiki'—the fine details like breath control for the flute or rhythm for the tabla—and get you into a collaborative jam session as quickly as possible. Whether it's a student band forming or a vocal group finding harmony, we prioritize playing music over just studying it.
Music is a language, and like any language, you have to speak it to learn it. At Zen Music Academy, our approach moves beyond traditional rigid syllabus structures. We treat the studio as a living space where beginner guitarists, seasoned tabla players, and aspiring vocalists cross paths.
When you browse through our gallery, you aren't seeing polished, edited music videos. You are seeing the real growth process. Some of these clips feature students who walked in having never held an instrument, now confident enough to perform covers or hold down a rhythm during a group jam.
We cater to both Western and Indian classical traditions across our centers in Mira Road and Vasai. If you are learning keyboard or electric guitar, you get access to our jam-ready setups, including digital pianos and sound-treated rooms. If your interest lies in Indian classical music, our floor-seated baithak sessions provide the authentic environment needed for vocal projection and tabla riyaaz.
Our goal is simple: create a space where you feel comfortable making mistakes while you learn. This is why we integrate band formation and group performance early in the curriculum. It forces you to listen, adjust, and connect with other musicians, which is the fastest way to improve. If you are stuck on a plateau or just starting out, come visit us for a free workshop. We believe music is for everyone, and the best way to understand our way of teaching is to walk in, pick up an instrument, and join the jam.
