Yoga is more than just stretching or mastering a pose. It is a way to understand your body, find calm in the chaos, and build a practice that actually works for you—whether you are a new mom or just looking for balance.

This graphic illustrates the 8 Limbs of Yoga, the foundational philosophy of the practice. It goes beyond physical postures (Asana) to include ethics (Yamas), personal practices (Niyamas), and breath regulation (Pranayama).

This diagram explains the concept of Ida and Pingala, the two primary energy channels (Nadis) in the body. Understanding this helps us see how practices like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) bring balance to our feminine and masculine energies.

Why is yoga the best form of movement? This post explains that unlike other activities that only contract muscles, yoga balances muscle stretch and contraction, which keeps cells active and promotes long-term mobility and health.

This infographic details how yoga supports reproductive health by improving blood circulation, balancing hormones, and reducing stress. It's a holistic approach to women's wellness.

This graphic shows how different yoga poses support posture and spinal health. It highlights how poses like Cat-Cow relieve back pain, Plank builds core strength, and Bow Pose increases flexibility.

This is the cover image for my guide on Yoga for Posture & Spinal Health. A healthy spine is the key to overall well-being, and yoga provides gentle yet powerful tools to support it.

This video provides five essential tips for a successful home yoga practice. It covers everything from creating a dedicated space to using a good quality mat to ensure you get the most out of your sessions.

This video explains why my clients are so happy with our online sessions. I detail my class plans, which are customized for women's health needs like hormonal balance, PCOD, fertility, and weight management.

Can yoga really increase your height? This video explains how poses like Talasana and Tadasana won't make your bones grow, but they will extend your spine and correct your posture, making you appear taller and stand straighter.

This post outlines the key benefits of practicing yoga online. It saves time and money, is more accessible, allows you to learn from tutors worldwide, and lets you practice without comparison in the privacy of your own home.

About Understanding Yoga: Poses, Philosophy & Tips

If you are waiting until you have the 'perfect' flexibility or an hour of uninterrupted time to start yoga, you will likely be waiting forever. In my sessions, we focus on the 'why'—why a stretch helps your back, or why a breath pattern calms your nerves—rather than mastering a textbook pose. Real yoga happens when you adapt the practice to your life, not the other way around, and I am here to help you find those pockets of peace within your busy day.

Beyond the Posture

Many people think yoga is just about physical fitness. While the physical benefits are real, the true study of asana is about using the posture to understand and transform yourself. When we look at the 8 limbs of yoga, we see that the physical poses are just one part of a larger framework that includes breath regulation (pranayama), focus (dharana), and meditation (dhyana).

Making Yoga Work for You

You do not need to be flexible to start. You just need to show up. Here are a few core principles I teach in my online sessions:

  • Start Small: Even 10 minutes of consistent practice beats an hour of intense exercise once a week.
  • Listen to Your Body: If a pose causes pain or creates excessive tension, modify it. We use props and adjustments to ensure safety, especially for those recovering from C-sections or dealing with pelvic pain.
  • The Power of Rest: Never skip Savasana (Corpse Pose). It is essential for integrating the benefits of your practice and activating your body's natural healing system.

Integrating Science and Tradition

I believe in combining ancient wisdom with modern needs. Whether it is understanding how Nadi Shodhana balances your energy channels or using Tulsi for its medicinal properties, I focus on practical applications. My classes are designed for women—covering hormonal balance, fertility, and stress relief—so you get the benefits of a guided, private, and effective practice from the comfort of your home.
