We believe school architecture should be more than just classrooms. We design spaces that combine earthy materials like terracotta and brick with vibrant, light-filled courtyards to make learning an engaging daily adventure for children.

The redesigned entrance of a school, where we integrated a new covered walkway, a green courtyard, and a terracotta jaali screen. The design creates a welcoming and modern first impression that reflects the school's vision.

Another angle of the school entrance, showing how the black metal frame and terracotta elements create a warm yet contemporary look. The inclusion of small trees and planters brings an element of nature right to the front door.

The refurbished internal courtyard of a primary school, featuring a facade of brick arches and a checkered floor. The open, airy space is designed to be a central hub for play and interaction.

About this collection

When redesigning schools, our biggest challenge is often integrating modern needs into existing, rigid structures. We do not just paint over old walls, we physically alter the facade with terracotta screens and metal louvers to control glare and ventilation. It is a balancing act between structural safety and creating a space that actually makes a child want to come to school every day.

Educational architecture requires a deep understanding of how a child experiences space. Our process starts by identifying how we can introduce 'green lungs'—pockets of nature—into the school campus, even in dense urban settings. By opening up internal courtyards and removing unnecessary barriers, we allow for better cross-ventilation and natural lighting, which are essential for a focused learning environment.

We prioritize materials that age gracefully and require low maintenance, such as exposed brick and terracotta. These materials are not just aesthetic choices; they provide excellent thermal mass, keeping the interiors cooler during the hot Indian summers. When we work on facade refurbishment, we often incorporate playful geometric elements, such as colorful window hoods or dynamic metal louvers, to give the institution a fresh, modern identity that children find exciting.

Safety is our priority throughout the renovation. We focus on durable, non-toxic finishes and ensure that all new structural interventions, whether they are staircases or skylights, are integrated seamlessly with the existing building grid. We act as partners, guiding the school management from the initial hand-drawn sketch to the final site supervision, ensuring that the design intent is realized without disrupting the school's daily operations.
