From the intricate patterns of Gond paintings to the earthy textures of Lippan art, we explore India's vibrant heritage. Come get your hands messy and connect with our roots through these guided, family-friendly sessions.

Every year, I host our popular eco-friendly Ganpati making workshop. It's open to all, with no prior experience needed, as I guide you step-by-step in sculpting your own idol from natural clay.

A look back at our houseful Ganpati making workshop. The studio was buzzing with devotion and creativity as participants of all ages crafted their beautiful idols.

My daughter Idu wanted a pink Ganpati, so we painted one together. It's these simple, creative moments that build a lifelong appreciation for art and tradition.

A precious memory. My daughter couldn't join the main workshop, but she came to help me set up and we made our own little Ganpati together afterward.

This video shows the mesmerizing process of creating a Gond painting. Participants learn to fill intricate patterns with vibrant colors, bringing a story to life on their canvas.

Our Lippan art workshop is a wonderful sensory experience. Here, kids are learning to paint the base and carefully place mirrors to create traditional mud and mirror art designs.

A closer look at our Lippan art session from the first day of our summer camp. The kids were so proud of the beautiful, textured coasters they created.

We also embrace the performing arts. Here is a glimpse from a graceful Kathak performance hosted at our studio, filling the space with rhythm and cultural beauty.

About Traditional & Folk Art Workshops

For our eco-friendly Ganpati workshops, we do not just teach you to sculpt—we handle the messy post-session cleanup. You walk in with an idea, get hands-on with natural clay, and leave with your own uniquely painted idol ready for the festival, saving you the stress of sourcing materials during the busy season.

Connecting with Our Roots Through Art

We believe that creativity acts as a bridge to our traditions. In our folk art workshops, the goal is not to produce a gallery-ready masterpiece, but to experience the joy of the process. Whether it is learning the distinct line work of Gond art or the careful placement of mirrors in traditional Lippan, we make these ancient skills accessible to everyone from toddlers to grandparents.

Why Choose Our Traditional Workshops?

  • Eco-Conscious Focus: We prioritize natural materials like sadhu mitti (natural clay) for our festive workshops, teaching the importance of sustainable celebrations without sacrificing fun.
  • No Experience Required: Our sessions are designed for beginners. We provide step-by-step guidance so you can focus on the relaxing, rhythmic nature of the art.
  • Community Vibe: These workshops are essentially a 'sangam' of cultures and ages. It is common to see a teenager working on a canvas right next to a parent trying their hand at clay, all sharing a laugh and the creative space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring my own supplies? No. We provide everything from aprons and brushes to the specific clay or paints needed for the day. You just bring your energy.

Are these sessions suitable for children? Absolutely. We tailor our Folk Art sessions to be age-appropriate. While adults might focus on intricate details, we ensure younger participants are engaged with simpler techniques that keep them excited and proud of what they make.

How messy does it get? We encourage messiness! Art is about expression. We handle the setup and cleanup, so you just worry about where to display your creation once you get home.
