Whether it is the peaceful flow of a Buddha portrait or the vibrant energy of mirror-work Lippan art, these traditional styles are surprisingly accessible. Let us create art that tells a story.

Here's a fun take on a rooster, drawn in a geometric style inspired by folk art. I use watercolors and a pen to create different patterns and textures within the bird's shape.

Jai Shri Ram. This painting is a silhouette of Lord Ram against a fiery orange watercolor sunset. It's a powerful image created with simple black ink and vibrant background colors.

Starting the year with a calming Buddha painting. This video shows the first stage of the process, creating the intricate line work and patterns before the watercolor is added.

A glimpse into the painting process for my Buddha artwork. Here, I'm using a flat brush to create a textured watercolor background, blending shades of blue and green.

Adding the final details to my Buddha painting. This clip shows me carefully painting Bodhi leaves in the background, an important symbol that adds meaning and context to the piece.

A look at my mirror work on canvas, a style heavily influenced by the beautiful Lippan art of Kutch. This piece combines a mandala design with reflective mirrors for a stunning effect.

This is the second piece in my mirror work on canvas series. It features a colorful lotus mandala design on a black background, with mirrors adding a touch of sparkle and tradition.

About this collection

When I work with mirror-work, it is not just about placing mirrors on a canvas; it is about creating rhythm. I use a mix of Lippan-inspired relief and modern painting techniques, so you do not need an entire studio setup to get that rich, traditional look. Even if you have never picked up a brush, you will be surprised at how quickly you can create something beautiful and vibrant.

I truly believe art is for everyone, not just those who went to art school. In these sessions, we focus on Indian folk forms like Gond and mirror-work, but I love bringing in my own playful, modern touches. When we paint a piece like a Buddha portrait or a silhouette of Lord Ram, we focus on the meditative process. Whether it is the fine line work or the structured layout of a mirror mandala, the goal is not perfection; it is the quiet satisfaction of finishing something you made with your own hands.

If you join me in Bangalore for an in-person workshop, we keep the environment relaxed, with snacks and plenty of time to chat while we work. For those who prefer to learn from home, my online sessions are just as easy. We use Zoom or Google Meet, and I guide you step-by-step with an overhead camera. You just need basic supplies and a laptop or tablet to follow along. If you have been looking for a way to unwind after a long week, this is your sign to grab some colors and start.
