Our Authentic Achaar Making Journey
Get a glimpse behind the scenes of our kitchen, where traditional recipes meet sun-drenched ingredients for that real ghar ka swad.
From the first ingredient to the final seal, this is how our achaar is crafted. It's a process filled with care, age-old recipes, and the flavors that tie us back to our roots.
Our mango pickle journey starts at the orchard. We believe the best achaar comes from the best ingredients, which is why we are so particular about the mangoes we choose.
We hand-pick every mango at its peak tanginess. This ensures that every bite of our aam achaar has that perfect sour kick that you love.
Our commitment to quality begins with hand-selecting the freshest raw mangoes. This is the first and most important step in creating that perfect homemade taste.
Watch the complete process of how we make our fresh, spicy, and family-favorite mango pickle. We wash, cut, and sun-dry the mangoes before mixing them with our special masalas.
Our team carefully sorts and cuts only the finest slices of mango. It's a labor of love, ensuring every piece in your jar is perfect.
Prepping the mangoes is a crucial step. Every piece is made ready with care, sliced to the right size to soak up all the delicious masalas.
For generations, our pickles have been prepared with the utmost focus on hygiene and safety. We use gloves and hairnets to ensure every batch is clean and safe.
After mixing, the pickle is left to age in a traditional barni. This is where the magic happens, as the flavors mature and deepen over time, creating a taste that is truly special.
We take pride in hand-filling each jar with fresh ingredients. This ensures that the taste of our homemade pickles lasts, bringing you joy with every spoonful.
About The Achaar Making Journey
We don’t believe in fast-tracking flavor. Every single batch starts with fresh, hand-selected mangoes that spend 4 to 7 days sun-drying on our terrace. Only after they are perfectly moisture-free do we hand-mix our signature spices and 100% pure mustard oil. This patience is exactly why our pickles hold that deep, old-school punch you miss from home.
Making real achaar isn't just a recipe, it's a process. When I started Wekins Homemade in Ashok Vihar, my only goal was to replicate that 'Maa ka pyaar' taste I missed so much. That meant saying no to vinegar, no to industrial powders, and absolutely no to preservatives.
Our journey begins at the orchard, where we hand-pick varieties like Ramkela mangoes at their peak tanginess. Back in our kitchen, the magic happens in cycles. We wash, slice, and then sun-dry the ingredients until the texture is just right. This natural dehydration is the secret to our long shelf life without using chemicals.
Once the spices are mixed, we don't just bottle them immediately. The pickle goes into traditional barnis to age. This is where the oils, spices, and vegetables meld together. It's a slow, quiet process that turns raw ingredients into that familiar, punchy flavor profile.
We know that safety is just as important as taste. That's why every jar—whether it's our 250g trial size or the 500g family pack—is food-grade glass, sealed with an air-tight metal lug cap to keep the aroma of mustard oil and hing intact. We even use a multi-layer bubble wrap and corrugated boxes for shipping, so whether you are in Delhi or anywhere else in India, your jar reaches you safely. When you open a Wekins jar, you aren't just getting a side dish. You are getting a piece of our family tradition, made with the same care I saw in my mother's kitchen.
Wekins Homemade
I started Wekins when I realized no store-bought jar could replace my mom's Lal Bharwa Mirch. Now, we’re just a small, dedicated team bringing those same family recipes—and that exact 'ghar wala' feeling—directly from our kitchen in Ashok Vihar to your dining table.
