Specialized & Lifelong Care for Senior and Disabled Dogs
Most shelters are temporary pitstops. We are the opposite. When a dog has nowhere else to go due to disability, old age, or trauma, this becomes their final, permanent home.
This is our on-site hospital, the largest of its kind in India. Here we provide everything from daily monitoring and supplements to blood tests and emergency surgeries for our 1800+ residents.
Bhim, who is paralyzed in his hind legs, stands tall with the help of his custom wheelchair. We provide mobility aids and physiotherapy to give our disabled dogs the best quality of life possible.
This dog with splayed legs is just one of the many special needs cases we care for. We are a lifeline for dogs with congenital defects, paralysis, or severe injuries that make them unadoptable.
This paralyzed dog is resting on a clean floor in one of our enclosures. We provide lifelong care for paralyzed dogs, some of whom have lived with us for over a decade, thanks to our dedicated medical protocols.
We've simplified the surrender process for our VOSD Hospice program. We provide end-of-life care for senior street dogs, and removing barriers means more of them can find peace in their final days.
Old, infirm dogs find it difficult to survive on the streets. For the past ten years, our VOSD Hospice has been a place they can call home and receive the best possible end-of-life care.
Payal suffered a severe spinal injury in a road accident, leaving her hind legs paralyzed. She receives regular medical attention and physiotherapy at our partner facility, with the hope that she will walk again.
About this collection
Surrendering to a sanctuary is a permanent transfer of legal guardianship, not a simple hand-off. Because we are a no-kill facility managing over 1,800 dogs with complex medical needs, we perform mandatory screening before any dog joins our pack. This ensures we can provide the specific palliative, rehabilitative, or hospice care your dog requires.
Why We Are Different
We are not a kennel, a foster program, or a boarding center. We are a 7-acre sanctuary designed for dogs the world has deemed 'too difficult.' Whether it is an elderly street dog in the final stage of life, a paralyzed survivor needing physiotherapy, or a pet with chronic conditions like epilepsy that previous owners could no longer manage, our goal is to provide a home.
The Care We Provide
- Medical Expertise: Our on-site hospital is the largest of its kind in India. We handle 24/7 emergency care, specialized surgeries, and daily medical monitoring for hundreds of residents.
- Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation: For dogs with spinal injuries or congenital defects, we provide mobility aids, swimming therapy, and dedicated care to prevent sores and maintain muscle health.
- Hospice for Seniors: We offer a dedicated path for senior community dogs who can no longer fend for themselves on the streets, ensuring their final days are comfortable, pain-free, and dignified.
The Surrender Process
We operate on a strict capacity and medical screening policy. Because our residents are frail and immunocompromised, we cannot accept dogs with infectious diseases like Parvo or Distemper. We prioritize transparency in our surrender process to ensure the safety of our existing pack. If you are considering our sanctuary for a dog with special needs, please reach out with their medical history and your specific situation. We are here to help you navigate this transition, provided the dog's needs align with our capability to house them permanently.
Voice of Stray Dogs
We do not believe in cages or temporary fixes. When the world says a dog is too old, too sick, or too broken to be loved, we say yes. We give them a home where they are treated with dignity for the rest of their lives.
