Medical & Special Needs Care for Rescue Dogs in Bengaluru
We provide intensive care for dogs recovering from surgery, chronic illness, or trauma. These rescues need a safe, loving home to heal, and we support you with every step of their treatment.
This is Buddy, who needs ongoing medication for a heart condition. Medical fostering involves providing a calm environment and ensuring he gets his meds on time. We cover all costs.
A closer look at Buddy resting. His breathing has improved with medication, but his care is ongoing. We rely on donations to fund essential treatments like his.
An update on Buddy's care plan. We conduct full vet checks on all our rescues to understand their needs. For Buddy, this means managing his exercise and diet to keep him comfortable.
This explains why we move rescued dogs into our custody for full vet checks before adoption. It allows us to manage conditions like Buddy's breathing issues effectively.
This was our initial foster appeal for Buddy when we found him abandoned and suffering from tick fever. A foster home is much better for recovery than a hospital kennel.
This was a foster appeal for Shushi the pug. She needed a temporary home while recovering from tick fever and pancreatitis. We provide all medical supplies and guidance.
An update on Shushi's health. After vet checks, we found she needed supplements for her recovery. We are transparent about all medical needs and costs with our community.
About this collection
Fostering a dog with medical needs is not just about having an extra room. It is about being the steady hand they need for recovery, whether that means administering medication, keeping them calm, or ensuring they stick to a fresh, meat-based diet. We cover all medical expenses, provide all supplies, and offer constant guidance, so you are never left to figure out complex treatments on your own.
When we take in a dog that requires medical or special needs care, we do not have a shelter to keep them in. They rely entirely on foster families to get healthy and stable. Our medical fosters fall into three main categories, and we match the right dog to your capacity and experience.
Types of Care We Support
- Post-Operative Recovery: These dogs have recently undergone surgery for issues like tumors or orthopaedic injuries. They require a quiet space for restricted movement and wound care.
- Chronic Condition Management: Some of our dogs, like those with epilepsy or heart conditions, need consistent medication schedules and regular vet monitoring to live comfortable, happy lives.
- Tick Fever & Rehab: Often, dogs come to us weak and suffering from blood parasites. They need a consistent, nutritious diet and a calm environment to build back their immunity and strength.
Our Commitment to You
We operate with complete transparency. We do not expect you to bear any costs for these rescues. This includes 100% of vet fees, diagnostics like blood work or MRIs, medication, and the fresh, meat-based diet we mandate for recovery.
We also maintain a strict 'No-Kennel' policy. These dogs have often spent time on the streets or in clinical settings, and they need a home environment where they can trust humans again. If you can provide a safe, calm space and follow the medical plan we lay out with our vets, you can help us save a life.
