Traditional & Couple Garba Choreography for Navratri
Bring authentic folk energy to the dance floor with choreography that blends traditional Vrundavan and gaamthi styles with modern rhythm.
A professionally shot performance of the song "Dholida" with my friend Urvil. This piece is all about expressing our love for Garba through powerful, synchronized movements and showcasing the dynamic energy of a male duet.
This is a throwback to the authentic couple gaamthi (village-style) Garba. We are reintroducing traditional twirls, barrels, and spins on this beautiful song by Aditya Gadhvi, showing the grace and connection of partner dancing.
Dancing with Nupur Parikh, one of the main cast dancers from the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi. This "Jhume Re Gori" choreography shows a beautiful blend of cinematic flair and traditional folk steps in a wonderfully themed studio.
My first Garba collaboration for the Navratri season, blending Ahmedabad and Mumbai styles. This duet to the song "Chhabilo" is full of playful interactions and classic couple Garba moves.
This choreography tells the story of "Asvaar," a traveler who inspires women to dance with joy. Performed with my sister, this piece captures the narrative power of Garba, set to a beautiful song from the film Hellaro.
A beautiful trio performance to the Chhand from the Rangtaali 2 album. This choreography showcases how Garba can be adapted for small groups, with coordinated movements and formations that highlight the song's folk essence.
For me, Garba is the purest form of happiness. This short, high-energy clip from my "Asvaar" choreography shows the fast-paced footwork and powerful expression that I love about our folk dance.
About Traditional & Couple Garba Choreography
Partner Garba is all about the rhythm you share with your partner. Whether you are aiming for that raw, village-style 'gaamthi' energy or graceful traditional twirls, the choreography only clicks when you stop overthinking the steps and start feeling the music together.
When we talk about traditional Garba, we aren't just moving in circles. We are diving into styles like Vrundavan and Prachin Ahmedabadi, where every spin and barrel (palti) has a specific purpose. My goal is to help you master these techniques—from spotting to stay balanced during fast spins, to keeping your posture right for long-duration sets—so you aren't just dancing, you are performing.
In my workshops, we strip away the awkwardness. It doesn't matter if you have two left feet; we break down every move, from the heavy-duty footwork to the subtle hand gestures. We practice routines that work for everything, from small, intimate settings to high-energy Navratri nights.
If you are looking to learn in Mumbai, we cover locations like Andheri West and Ghatkopar, with regular weekend batches designed to build your stamina for the full nine nights. We also do deep dives into 'gaamthi' couple routines, which are perfect if you want to stand out on the floor. It is just good vibes, solid technique, and a whole lot of Gujarati spirit.
