I shoot in RAW and handle every bit of the skin retouching myself. This means you get a clean, polished finish that keeps your real skin texture visible instead of looking fake or over-processed.
The Beauty Photography Approach
Beauty photography is not about hiding who you are under layers of digital makeup. It is about light, angles, and technical precision. When you come into the studio, we are not just taking photos. We are building a concept from the ground up.
The Technical Setup
I use Nikon Z9 and Z7ii cameras with prime lenses to ensure clinical sharpness. Lighting is usually a 2-3 light setup using Elinchrom or Nanlite modifiers to shape light around your face. If you are doing a beauty shoot, you will see us using a beauty dish or softboxes to bring out specific highlights. Everything is tethered to a monitor, so we can adjust posing, hair volume, and expressions in real-time.
Why This Matters
- Real Skin Texture: I do not believe in blurring faces into plastic. My retouching process, specifically frequency separation, keeps your pores and natural features intact while cleaning up stray hairs or minor blemishes.
- Collaborative Production: Great beauty shots need a team. I work with skilled makeup artists and stylists to ensure the makeup precision and wardrobe choices fit the brand or personal look we are aiming for.
