On a professional shoot, the difference between a good look and a great one is how the makeup handles studio lighting. I focus on 'glazed skin' techniques that catch the light without becoming greasy, ensuring your face looks radiant on camera for hours. Whether we are going for bold editorial lips or soft commercial glam, my priority is making sure the base holds up through multiple outfit changes and long studio days.
Makeup Designed for the Lens
Photography and video require a completely different approach compared to event makeup. While you need pigment and precision, you also need products that don't reflect light incorrectly or look heavy under harsh studio strobes. My approach for commercial and editorial work is all about layering textures that look expensive on camera while remaining lightweight enough to move in.
My Technical Approach
- Camera-Ready Base: I prioritize a luminous finish that mimics healthy, hydrated skin. This 'glazed' look is perfect for beauty editorials where you want the focus to be on fresh, glowing features. I use premium foundations that offer full coverage without the cakey texture.
- Sweat-Proof Performance: Studio lights get hot. I use setting sprays and long-wear techniques, the same ones I use for my brides, to ensure your look doesn't melt off, even if you are shooting all day.
- Defined Features: For camera work, I focus on sculpting the face with cream contouring. This creates depth that reads clearly in high-resolution images, especially for fashion shoots where features can sometimes get washed out.
