Behind the Easel: My Studio & Painting Process

I’m Vinit. Step into my world where every stroke tells a story. From live stadium paintings to the messy, creative process of building texture, this is where it all happens.

A proud moment for me, being featured by Lokmat News for my live painting of Wankhede Stadium. It was a challenge to capture the entire stadium in just four hours.

Some highlights from the 'Rangotsav' Art Exhibition in Borivali, where I had the opportunity to display my abstract series. It was wonderful to connect with fellow art lovers and artists.

A video that speaks to the heart of being an artist. It shows my studio and the process of knife painting, while the audio discusses the passion that drives us beyond just money.

About this collection

Every piece I create begins with a blank canvas and a lot of patience. Whether I am working on a 3D textured knife painting or a large-scale mural, the process is never about rushing to the finish. It’s about building layers, choosing the right medium, and ensuring the final result feels like it belongs in your space. If you are looking for custom art, remember that perfection takes time—we start with a concept, sketch the layout, and then bring it to life with precision.

My approach is simple: no wallpapers, just pure, hand-painted creativity. Being a graduate of the Sir J. J. School of Arts taught me the fundamentals, but my real learning happens on the floor, in front of a canvas, every single day.

The Process Behind the Paint

When you commission a piece, we don't just pick a design. We talk about the wall, the lighting, and the mood you want to create.

  • Concept & Layout: For custom portraits or large murals, I use digital drafting to ensure proportions are spot on before I touch the canvas.
  • Texture & Depth: My signature style often involves heavy impasto techniques using palette knives. This creates a tactile, 3D surface that catches light differently depending on where you stand in the room.
  • Material Choice: I use professional-grade acrylics and oils, ensuring that your artwork doesn't just look good today but stays vibrant for years. Every painting is finished with a non-yellowing varnish to protect it from dust and UV rays.

Live Art & Public Work

I believe art should move, which is why I often take my work into public spaces. Painting live—like my experience at the Wankhede Stadium for the Ranji Trophy final—is a test of focus and speed. It taught me how to deliver high-quality work under pressure, a skill I bring to every commission I handle, whether it's a private home portrait or a large office mural.

I treat every project with the same respect. If you want to see a specific technique in action or discuss a concept for your home, I am always happy to walk you through the studio process.
