Creative & Conceptual Portrait Photography
Move past standard photos. I create visual narratives that feel cinematic, turning your unique ideas into art at my Delhi studio or on-location.
A moody studio portrait from the "Leather straps and Cigarettes" series. The dark background and single light source create a dramatic, film-noir atmosphere.
A close-up from the same conceptual series. This shot focuses on the subject's expression and the subtle details of the smoke and styling.
An expressive portrait capturing raw emotion. For this conceptual shoot, we worked on conveying a powerful feeling through expression and body language.
Another take from "THE SCREAM" series. The intense emotion and dynamic pose make for a compelling and memorable portrait.
A double exposure edit from the same series. This technique adds a layer of psychological depth, visualizing the inner turmoil and chaos of the scream.
A black and white portrait from a low-key lighting experiment. Using shadows and minimal light, I aimed to create a sense of mystery and introspection.
A playful yet thoughtful expression from the same black and white series. Experimenting with different moods within a single lighting setup adds range to a creative shoot.
A soft, smiling portrait in a dramatic low-key light. The contrast between the dark setup and the gentle expression makes the image intriguing.
Another pensive look from my black and white portrait experiments. I find that monochrome photography often helps in focusing on pure emotion and form.
A final shot from the low-key series, with a direct and confident gaze. This demonstrates how a simple lighting setup can be used to create a variety of powerful portraits.
About Creative & Conceptual Portraits
We don't just pick up a camera and start shooting. Every conceptual session begins with a conversation and a mood board to align on the specific emotion or story we are trying to convey. Whether you are a non-model feeling nervous or a professional needing a fresh look, I guide you through the process, pulling in stylists and makeup artists when the concept demands a more complex, polished aesthetic.
Photography is often treated as a product, but I approach it as a piece of cinema. My work in this cluster—ranging from the raw, emotive 'THE SCREAM' series to the surreal, strawberry-themed concepts—is about capturing something that feels human and intentional.
The Process
My studio in Delhi is equipped with professional lighting setups—from high-contrast fashion looks to soft, moody shadows. When we work together, we aren't just taking frames; we are building a narrative. If we need a specific 'look,' I collaborate with a trusted team of makeup artists and stylists who understand how to translate a vision into reality.
Why Choose Conceptual Portraits?
Sometimes you need a headshot. Sometimes, you need a statement. Conceptual photography allows us to break the rules. We use props, dramatic lighting, and even double exposure techniques to visualize inner thoughts or creative ideas that a standard portrait simply cannot communicate.
Technical Approach
I shoot primarily on a Sony Alpha with an 85mm lens, which gives that sharp, portrait-focused depth I look for. Whether we are doing a low-key lighting experiment or a bright, editorial style shoot, the goal is always to keep you as the focus—not the gear. If you have an idea that feels a bit out of the ordinary, that is exactly the kind of story I want to help you tell.
