Conceptual & Creative Portraits for Bold Narratives
These portraits go beyond the surface. Whether you have a specific social theme, an artistic vision, or a story that needs visual language, I use cinematic lighting and symbolic elements to capture it.
A key image from a conceptual series, this portrait uses a fierce expression and symbolic props to convey strength. The dark, moody lighting and flowing hair create a dramatic, high-impact visual narrative.
An overhead shot from my 'WOMEN WE WORSHIP, WOMEN WE ABUSE' series. This conceptual photo uses props like a trident and scattered flowers to build a narrative around a powerful social message.
A detailed close-up from a creative shoot, focusing on traditional jewelry and expressive features. The rim lighting beautifully highlights the hair, adding a sense of motion and drama to this profile shot.
This creative portrait captures the process of art itself. The overhead perspective and the act of painting on the face create a unique and engaging image, perfect for an artistic or editorial portfolio.
A striking black and white photo with selective color, this image plays with contrast and composition. The direct gaze and the paintbrush held in the mouth make for a bold and unconventional creative portrait.
A creative fashion portrait where face paint becomes part of the look. The pose and striped outfit complement the artistic makeup, resulting in a modern and stylish editorial photograph.
A moody and atmospheric portrait using low-key lighting. The combination of red and blue light with smoke creates a cinematic feel, sculpting the subject's profile against the dark background.
This creative shot uses colored smoke and a strong backlight to create a dramatic silhouette. It's an example of how I use lighting effects to build a specific mood for a conceptual portrait.
A close-up low-light portrait that plays with shadow and color. The rim lighting defines the subject's form while keeping most of the features in mystery, adding to the creative and moody atmosphere.
About Conceptual & Creative Portraits
Every session starts with a mood board. Before we even pick up the camera, we sit down to discuss your concept, whether it is mythological, abstract, or social, and arrange the specific props, makeup, and lighting setups needed to turn that idea into a striking visual narrative.
For these sessions, I move away from standard photography and into production. We utilize smoke machines, colored gels in red and blue, and 3+ light setups to carve subjects against black or dark backgrounds. My studio in Greater Noida is equipped with the specific gear required for this, such as my Nikon Z6 and Godox lighting, allowing for precise control over the mood of the image.
Whether you want to explore mythological themes, social commentary, or abstract art, the focus is on the story. We begin with a collaborative brainstorming session to align on the visual tone, ensuring the props and lighting match your narrative. This is not just about taking a photo. It is a technical process where we use elements like face painting, specialized SFX, and high-end retouching to achieve a painterly, cinematic finish. These sessions are perfect if you want imagery that stands out for an artistic portfolio, an editorial project, or a deeply personal statement. We can shoot in my Greater Noida studio where I have full control over the environment, or travel if the concept demands a specific location.
