Artistic & Conceptual Portraits that push visual boundaries
I don't just take pictures. I sculpt light to create surreal, thought-provoking stories. If you want a portfolio that breaks the mold, let’s talk.
An intense, conceptual shot using plastic wrap to create a feeling of suffocation and struggle. The harsh, blown-out light from behind adds to the chaotic and raw emotion of the image.
'TWO FACED'. A surreal and aggressive portrait created by compositing two images. It explores the concept of internal conflict, with one side attacking the other.
A surreal visual blending photography with AI. The goldfish was generated to create a fantasy fashion image, exploring the evolution of visual storytelling without harming any living creatures.
A playful and slightly rebellious portrait questioning the nature of art. The model holds a digicam, creating a meta-commentary on image-making in the digital age.
A conceptual portrait using a mirror to explore themes of self-love and duality. The lighting creates a stark silhouette, focusing on the intimate gesture.
Another shot from the 'TWO FACED' series, this one more serene. The reflection creates a perfect double, exploring themes of self-reflection and inner peace.
A quirky and unconventional fashion portrait. The pose and styling are intentionally awkward and playful, pushing the boundaries of a standard model test.
'CLONE/25'. A creative portrait using a mirror to create a reflection that feels like a separate entity. The pink gelled light adds a surreal, futuristic vibe to the scene.
From the conceptual series 'Roots'. This image uses a mirror and floral prosthetics to explore the connection between humanity and nature, creating a beautiful and surreal reflection.
A close-up from the 'Roots' series, showing the delicate detail of the pressed flowers applied to the model's skin.
About Artistic & Conceptual Portraits
In these shots, I use mirrors, floral prosthetics, and precise lighting to manipulate how the camera sees reality. It is not just about a pretty face, it is about using geometry and light to build a narrative that feels alien yet deeply human. When we shoot, we are not just clicking buttons. We are constructing an image.
Why Go Conceptual
Standard portraiture is fine if you need a LinkedIn headshot. But if you are looking to build a brand, a magazine editorial, or a portfolio that stops people from scrolling, you need to step into the conceptual space. That is where I live.
The Technical Side
I do not rely on luck. My approach to conceptual photography is rooted in rigorous technical control.
- Light Sculpting: I use optical snoots, colored gels, and prisms to dictate where the viewer's eye goes. It is about creating shadows that tell as much of the story as the light.
- Real-Time Feedback: I use tethering via Capture One, so we see the image on the monitor while we shoot. We are not guessing. We are adjusting hair, makeup, and light intensity until the frame hits the mark.
- Texture-Positive Retouching: The skin texture is the soul of the portrait. My editing preserves the pores and the humanity—no plastic filters allowed.
Our Process
When we shoot, it is a collaboration. We might be using plastic wrap for a suffocating effect, or complex mirror setups to create a 'two-faced' duality. If you are ready to move beyond safe, boring portraits and into high-fashion storytelling, we should talk. Whether you need an editorial spread for a magazine or a unique personal portfolio, we bring the vision to life.
